Here's Putin's legacy. Not Sochi.

Discuss.

Putin definitely wants to keep control of as much of that as possible.

Yanukovich and Putin may be in the wrong and they may have misread the will of the Ukrainian people. But they also have means, motive, and opportunity. Means? The entire Russian military at Putin's disposal. Motive? see breadbasket, oil, and gas above. Opportunity? "We must stop the rebellion for the good of law and order in the Ukraine."

Yanukovich and Putin may be wrong but in this case, I think "Might Makes Right." Just like when Stalin went through the Ukraine.

And the clincher? Do you see anybody, anywhere, in the West who will get involved rather than sending a strongly worded letter?

Good summary for those just joining the fray.

Diode 02-20-2014 11:22 AM

Oh, and here's the guy leading the rebellion. You might know him.

This is obviously the invitation for much needed American intervention with the goal of freeing the Russian people of Putins KGB tyranny.

Translation: Invade Kill and Imprison the foreign enemy in the hope of gaining control of their oil like everywhere else they enter like a bull in a china shop.

This is how Putin treats his opponents. You can slap Yankuvich's name on it, but the world knows who pulls the strings. We enabled it. George Bush and his best friend Pooty-Poot. We sat idly by while the KGB took control of a democratic Russia with a surging economy and destroyed it. We said nothing when history books were nationally rewritten to make Stalin look like a pretty okay guy. We continue not to sanction Russia for their involvement in destabilizing governments and buying entire ruling parties.

Enough.

Just C 02-20-2014 11:38 AM

You're right. I concede. Everything I just said was out of pure ignorance, bordum and a deep hatred for all things American, except basketball and rap

it's a fucked situation, I think the reasons for the protests are absolutely valid but some of it has gotten out of hand

Aesthetic 02-20-2014 10:01 PM

I find this extremely offputtin'

But really, its wierd that capitalism is failing everywhere else in the world except the united states. A world wide revolution is close my friends.

Sharp 02-20-2014 10:19 PM

this isn't entirely a capitalism issue, this is closer to the result of around a century of cultural strain

But everywhere? I mean, every fucking where?

Greece, Italy, Argentina, Chile, United states, South Africa, India(Tibet), Russia, Australia, New Zealand. Etc.

Everyone it seems is realizing how uncomfortable the government is making them.

The only real place I would feel comfortable with based on social and economical strength is Sweden. And they are almost fluffier than the French.

Could u go in depth on the cultural tension? I recall reading something about russia's hippies being super radical.

Sharp 02-20-2014 11:04 PM

in breif, Ukraine's been kind of consistently shafted by Russia. their culture's been suppressed heavily - in many areas of ukraine youths speak russian (a lot of it survived during WWII in the United States - philly became a huge ukrainian center), and they've been used heavily for resources (known as the breadbasket of the region)

far as those other places go tho, iunno. can't really speak on em but thats funky

Seyance 02-21-2014 08:26 AM

cant wait for this to happen in the rest of the world, viva la revolution. its the only way forward, democracy doesnt work.

WZA 02-21-2014 10:15 AM

that's why they have 500,000 coffins outside of Atlanta Georgia, and empty concentration camps.. they're already 1 step ahead man. They saw things coming wayyyyy before you did.

that's what I was referring to.

Aesthetic 02-21-2014 10:36 AM

Yeah the Fema camps have been around for 20+years.

I cant really remember who it was I really did admire some of his quotes; the man was a piece of shit dont get me wrong but the way he did his teaching and actually approached real life scenarios in terms of revolution was really awe inspiring. Some guy in Ukraine that's been organizing car bombings and government hostage situations as well as federal bank robberies and military depression tactics. Im sure this is either all his fault or is blamed on him. Im curious, really.
