Africa wasn't close to the west when it comes to technological advancement when slavery happened. it's not like they've even caught up now with the culture being introduced. so without slavery, black people would be further behind than they are now, obviously. take a look at those areas still untouched by western society to see how true that is. there has also been more white slaves in history than any other race.
