apparently our CPU usage on the server has been too high lately, so they were going to look to move us to a dedicated server if we do not get the #s down in the next two days.

the dedicated server is like base-line $55/mth, so clearly not an option at this point.

images from sigs are going to be removed for the time being until we can figure out the sweet-spot number and enforce better constraitns

We have unlimited bandwidth & storage... but still had shared servers and thus CPU constraints.

Hopefully this is enough. Because we will be migrated to a dedicated server on the 30th if it is not --- and then we will have a 30 day 'free' trial, before being charged ~$70 a month, which is ludicrous for a bulletin board lol.

in seriousness though, this is why most sites didnt allow images/etc. back in the day.

HOWEVER, we will revisit the numbers and test some shit once we have a months worth of new averages..

Then we can determine how to reward certain individuals with specialized sigs... but we need to be prudent -- i.e. don't want the site crashing just because everyone and their brother needs fancy sigs that are re-rendered in every thread.

I don't know how much room it would save, but you also could cut "Profile Images." Who would miss those?

Hmm, I was able to log in as Calloused using my normal password. I must have changed the password for Tha Talent when I registered as Calloused so that the password-sharing search on the administration control panel wouldn't out me.

That isn't a thing. If you've experience that in admincp it was a 3rd party plugin and a questionable one at that since all pws are encrypted, salted, and hashed in the db. All it could do is try to match hashes but wouldn't be able to see actual pws.

That's what it was. We had it at RhymeNReason. It actually was useful. We couldn't see the passwords but could see completely encrypted versions of them, so that two matching passwords would show up.
