Mother tries to sell kids on Facebook for $4000
((Like really? Smh)).
This post was originally published on Mashable. Here's a quick parenting tip: it's not OK to offer to sell your children on Facebook, even if you really need the money. Misty VanHorn, a 22-year old mother of two in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, found that out the hard way over the weekend. VanHorn was arrested on Saturday for the alleged trafficking of minors on Facebook - offering her 10-month old and her 2 year-old for US$4000. According to the police report, VanHorn offered her children several times on the social network - offering the 10-month old girl for US$1000, or both of them for US$4000. And she had a taker. Police believe VanHorn wanted the US$1000 to bail her boyfriend out of jail. VanHorn was dealing with a woman in Fort Smith, Arkansas, according to The Oklahoman. This means she could be charged with a federal crime because the act would have crossed state borders. "Just come to Sallisaw, it's only 30 minutes away and I'll give you all of her stuff and let y'all have her forever for $1000," read VanHorn's Facebook message to the Fort Smith woman, as unearthed in the police report by the Daily Dot. She is being held on a US$40,000 bond. The children are in the custody of the state's department of human services, which alerted the police in the first place. A word of caution for anyone rushing to Facebook to find the alleged perpetrator: there are multiple Misty VanHorns on the social network. Two of them live in Oklahoma. One looks similar to the mugshot released by the Sequoyah County Police Department, but does not appear to live in VanHorn's town, Sallisaw. That bitch was selling her babies for the amount of a healthy tax returrn, smh. She woulda made more just slinging food stamps on the side.
We need to keep a set of criteria to follow in order for someone to be able to reproduce. There should be a screening test of some sort. |

her kid was only worth 1k to her?
smh |
Babies don't do much, they eat, shit, make noises, and spit up. What would you sell a baby for?

...I feel bad even answering that question. Damn. Who in the world would sell their own kids? Smfh. |

at the least the very least |
LOL look at these savages having a baby bidding war...
...id say bout 25-35k, nothing less than 50k for twins tho |

Only because mexicans have so many babies though and with such a large stock and low need, the price has to be lower. Now a Japanese baby, that's where the money's at. |
I never got why mexicans sold babies, I hear how they sell there women.
|
Because mexicans have unnecessary amounts of babies, so it doesnt matter much to them to let one or two go for some dinero.
For instance, my friend jose, his grandpa had 22 babies with his wife, until she died from birth. Then, he married another lady and had 22 more babies with her. Now you think that old ass cared equally about all of those kids? If I was in his position, I woulda considered selling. or starting a sports team or something. |
Bottom line, that so-called mother tried to sell her children off.
Why have children if you can't even look after them. Tsk tsk. |
Who knows the situation @Immaculate. She probably didn't want the baby in the first place, but just felt obligated. For all you know, it could've been rape babies. Not justifying the sell of little humans, but...you can't know and pass judgement on someone if you don't know their lives.
Just like murder, sure the social stigma pings on murder being "bad," but regardless of how it's seen, there's always a reason for it. |
Seadad HAS to be trolling.
If some lowlife scum tries to flog her baby for 10k, I can pass judgement on her being a piece of shit that needs to get roshambod |
i actually think bw is right.
|
4000$? That's a bargain! Holy shit, imagine if she went on the black market with those items of hers. Kidneys etc. is needed like hell. I bet she could get at least 50k$ on the darkweb if she wasn't such a stupid bitch. Seeing how she was dumb enough to try to sell her kids on Facebook I guess she never ruled out her options well enough. Human Trafficking just gets dumber and dumber every second now that everyone does it. Smfh.
|
Don't they just drown them in China?
|
@Masaii, I'm definitely not trolling. Just pointing out the fact that NONE of us know the entire story. Who knows, this woman could be evaluated and deemed mentally/socially retarded.
Just because I pose an argument, doesn't mean I don't agree that this is a fucked up person. However, I can't judge her 'cause I have no idea of the events in her life that lead to something sooooo idiotically desperate. I can look at it like "damn that's fucked up." But when I look at it objectively, without preconditioned social response...I think "what could have lead her to make that decision, which to her was justified?" Dare to think from different perspectives. Fuck that trolling bullshit |
seems like the children would potentially be in better care ne ways, tho the first thought that crossed my mind was, what kind of person buys a baby off FB?
|
Some people are just scum, I understand the need to believe that people who do things like this have some sort of excuse...but sometimes people are just selfish fucks who don't care about anyone other than themselves.
|
wait wtf, imac looks reasonably cute for a thick girl & her cleavage is massive.good show ole chap, good show
|
Co sign^
Anyway: the act is deplorable morally. Bad weather, she should have used adoption if it was an "undesireable" This lady should be sold to pirates far cry 3 style |

I hate to be the one defending the child trafficking parent.
But lets look at this from a different perspective. There isn't a lot different between this and putting a child up for adoption. As far as we know, she did research on the family she was selling the kids to & she was genuinely trying to give them a better home. I think it's a safe assumption that she wasn't looking after the children very well and she might have truly believed that she was giving them a better home. "But anonymous" I hear you say, "She only wanted the money to bail her boyfriend out of jail" Well, that may be the case, but we all know that the media enjoys to over-dramatize things to make a better story, so we know the fact that her boufriend was in jail wasn't gonna go unnoticed, anything to make her look worse. Adoption agency's aren't giving these kids away for free, so why should this chick. I seem to be ranting on a bit now so I'm gonna stop. Tldr; Don't judge anybody from something you read on the Internet/ hear from the media. |
@Badweather I totally understand where your coming from, but I guess the real victims here are her babies. I don't have any children BUT I do have a 10 month year old neice and a 2 yeard old nephew whom I consider my own, and it just breaks my heart that parents would go that extreme of "selling" their child for whatever reason.
Sure, she could have taken other proper channels of giving away her babies, like what Veritas said (adoption). But if she were proven to be mentally unstable then that would been and should be the only exception. |

Some ppl get shit they don't want. Better they're sold than killed. Oh what if a rapist buys them? Then they'll prolly get raped. Will not selling them stop rape tho? No. Rape is here to stay. Btw, Cute pic. |
