WWE (yes wrestling)

So I've been watching Raw lately and to my surprise, the latest Raw ep had some of the oldschool wrestlers return (either for the HOF induction or as a guest).

Some of them were:

Honkey Tonk Man
Ted Debease - Million Dollar Man
Rick Flair
Sgt. Slaughter
Hacksaw Jim Dugan
Dusty Rhodes

And a few others that I may have missed out, but lets not forget, the man himself, The Undertaker, whom I might add, is at a record of 28-0 wins at past Wrestlemanias.

I know some of you are like, "yo, wrestlings fake", but I am a loyal wrestling fan, so my reply to that would be....*in Rocks voice*

"IT DOESN'T MATTER!!".

It would be nice to know if any of you guys use to watch Superstars?

Where my fans at. Holler.

Witty 03-08-2013 07:56 PM

Yeah, it was great...Undertaker came back and did....absolutely fucking nothing.

Scott Akers 03-08-2013 07:56 PM

they where there because of the old school raw.

taker is 20-0 btw.

Badweather 03-08-2013 08:06 PM

Jack Swagger is a lispy douche. Him and his handler Jeb are talking some ingorant shit right now.

bleak 03-08-2013 08:19 PM

The characters in wrestling now are fucking stupid compared to the greats of the past. Let's look at John Cena. Wtf is his deal? He was a rapper, now he's what? Don't worry, I'll wait. Uh, how about CM Punk? The 'Straight Edge Superstar.' GAY STFU WITH THAT BULLSHIT.

I WANT BALD HEADS, BEERS CRUSHED, KENDO STICKS SWINGING, TABLES GOTTEN, AND FOR EVERY ONE OF THESE FAGGOTS TO GET STUNNERED STRAIGHT TO THE FUCKING D LEAGUE OF WRESTLING.

What happened to the Steve Austins, Rocks, MANKINDS, Tommy Dreamers, Tazs, or Sandmans? I'LL SETTLE FOR A KURT ANGLE RIGHT BOUT NOW. There's not even blood on this new PG wrestling. WHEN I WATCHED WRESTLING, THERE WERE FIRST BLOOD MATCHES. Now every match is a first blood, cause these pussies can't handle a cut. Dudes used to jump from 25 foot ladders, onto 2 people on separate tables, GET UP AND FINISH THE MATCH.

Tf happened to that shit?

Lol WWE are just trying to make an impact, shock tactics I believe they are called.

I call it desperation.

Badweather 03-08-2013 08:28 PM

Cm punk is the best villain I've ever seen though. Like, not even trying to be funny.

I saw someone get slammed on a table, and the table didn't break...I was like...what the fuck is this shit?

Immaculate 03-08-2013 08:29 PM

Lol @ Kurt Angle.

I think wrestlers these days are more commercial then of back then.

And I agree with you @bleak.

Yeah I can agree with that, if not THE (cuz that's Vince Mcmahon imo) but definitely one of the all time greatest heels.

He thrives off being hated lol

Immaculate 03-08-2013 08:30 PM

I love CM Punk and his whole straight edge attitude. He, is, in a way, a "son" version of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Dope girl 03-08-2013 08:33 PM

I love that show, so fabulous.

Dope girl 03-08-2013 08:34 PM

I can't imagine me wresting people I'd probably break my bone. just say.

WOW

CM Punk, best heel ever, really?

How bout Hogan in nWo.

Or more recent, Edge as the R Rated Superstar?

Which, CM Punk is an Edge knockoff, he was brought in to replace him.

fuckin hell you guys just got under my skin.

THE KING JERRY LAWLER, PAUL HEYMAN, ERIC BISCHOFF, FUCKING BROCK LESNAR WAS A BETTER BAD GUY.

Scott Akers 03-08-2013 08:54 PM

cm punk > edge

edge was a horrible heel imo.

cm punk is the best shit talker in the business, and hogan didn't have that much power on the mic people just hated him over the whole nwo bit. if you get this far in this business with words alone your doing something right.

I'd say CM Punk is easily as good as any of those...both on the microphone and in the ring. the fact Undertaker wanted him to challenge for the streak at WM speaks volumes about how much he is respected in the locker room and by the oldest and most experienced wrestlers...he is carrying WWE on his back.

King Ra. 03-08-2013 09:14 PM

Goldberg was my nigga. I first watched WCW back in the days when Sting, NWO, Harlem Heat, Lex Luger, DDP.... damn, all them niggas were doing the thing. Classic shit. Caught up with WWF in it's golden age. Kane vs Undertaker, Austins dominance, The Rock when he was with The Nation of Domination, DX... those were the days. Fuck that shit now.

Witty 03-08-2013 10:01 PM

A few months ago I was telling my little brother about how the attitude era was so much better, and being the wise little faggot he is, he said something along the lines of 'yeah but sometimes people can glamorize the past, maybe you're just remembering something a lot better than what actually happened'....so after the customary punch to the ribs for back sass I admitted he was right about the past being overly glamorized a lot of the time, so I said fuck it and decided to watch as many old raw episodes as possible with him, when I had the time...anyway, long story short...it really was THAT much better and he agreed, and if you still watch WWE don't go back and watch attitude era episodes cuz you will just be left thinking....what the fuck happened?

El Muffin 03-08-2013 10:03 PM

see it had to change, back in the day only certain wrestlers could make it, nowadays there is a wide range of wrestlers than can succeed, and they can make more money now to. there wasn't to many people that could hang with the rock or stone cold, so it had to evolve. the same people that complain about the attitude era being gone, are the same ones that complain when a storyline lasts to long, it was great the attitude era ended with stone cold and the rock tbh. wrestlers are pose to be replaceable for a promotion, but back in those days, the good attitude era wrestlers where irreplaceable, there isn't a wrestler that can't be replaced now, and that's good for business.

I never said anything about CM Punk being "the best", no I said I love his whole attitude persona he's got going.

The best of the best, are the Legends, which probably 80% of the wrestlers now days aren't, and I'm talking about wrestlers like Brett Hart, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, etc.

The Edge, however, was another great and lovable wrestler, as much as he tried to "Act bad", he was still a sweetheart (in my eyes). That Lita romance was funny as fuck though lmao.

OH EM GEE! you read my mind, lol @ Nation of Domination haha, they had everyone doing the whole "black power" movement during their song, I must admit, it was catchy, FAROOQ and his crew.

Few of my oldschool tag team champs were:

The Rockers (Shawn Michaels and Marty Jennedy)
Legion of Doom
The Hardy Boys (they imo brought in the extreme high flying manouvres for a tag team)
Hulk Hogan and Macho Man - while it lasted lol

Dope girl 03-08-2013 10:34 PM

I'd Remembered Paul I felt sad when hear Paul died.

Have you watched Brett Hart's documentary?

And speaking of The Rock and Stone Cold, I remember the match that they had, and The Rock won, and I remember this interview they had with Stone Cold Steve Austin, he said that right after The Rock had pinned him down, The Rock whispered in his ear "it was a honour fighting you man, I love you" (they even showed that part where he said it).......and that's when Stone Cold's respect for The Rock grew much more then just a "wrestling friend", that's when he (Steve) knew that The Rock was real genuine.

I don't know if this is even relevant to your quoted post lmao.

bleak 03-08-2013 10:42 PM

sounds like gay love tbh

Immaculate 03-08-2013 10:45 PM

Not really, sometimes men can say that shit without having to be homo.

Take notes.

bleak 03-09-2013 12:52 AM

Take notes? I don't think that is relevant to what you told me.

Considering that I have traversed the internet, and know what is gay and what isn't.

Dwayne Johnson is homo.

Immaculate 03-09-2013 01:26 AM

Now your just being a douche.

King Ra. 03-09-2013 02:35 AM

Word.

~RustyGunZ~ 03-09-2013 02:49 AM

It was my understanding that only poor people watch the wwe

Immaculate 03-09-2013 07:18 AM

@He whose name shall not be spoken, you just might change your mind of how you see McMahon when you watch that doco.

Anonymous 03-09-2013 11:59 AM

Y'all are acting like this is boxing or some real sport.
It's an entertainment show, not a competitive sport.

That said
Jeff Hardy > everyone

Zen 03-09-2013 12:07 PM

Honestly haven't watched wrestling in a very long time. Just doesn't feel the same to me anymore. But I do remember waiting all week when I was in school for Raw and Smackdown and even the shitty Heat show that came on Sunday. Ah...I just got nostalgic for a second.

This is a competitive sport to them dude, its their profession, that being said, you should try watching their personal doco's just to get a little jist of what wrestling means to them. At first I was small minded and thought, "oh yeah a bunch of guys just jumping into a ring pounding the fuck outta eachother for entertainment", but as soon as I got hooked, I learned that its waaay much more to them, alot of time, commitment and passion goes into this, alot of training & pereseverance goes in too, so in saying that this isn't a competitive sport? It really is. They are pretty much fighting for their careers aswell as their lives.
