i've passively heard hip hop since before i can remember, honestly. i'm going to say Wu, Pac, Dre or Snoop... but the memory is pretty foggy. that's based on consciously listening to hip hop - only after hearing NaS' Stillmatic or the Marshall Mathers LP (yes, two albums beyond the nineties) - and having feelings of nostalgia evoked when i'm hearing that early shit from said artists, years after.

The first rap I remember knowing about was "Jump" by Kris Kross. I was in Kindergarten, and we all would turn around our clothes to be like them. But I barely knew the song, more knew of it.
