Rank Nas' albums.

Let's see how you do this. I'll put myself on the spot first:

1. Illmatic
2. Life is Good
3. God's Son
4. The Lost Tapes
5. Stillmatic
6. It Was Written
7. Hip Hop is Dead
8. Street's Disciple
9. Untitled
10. I Am ...
11. The Firm
12. Distant Relatives
13. Nas and Ill Will Present QB's Finest
14. Nastradamus

There's huge gaps to me between Nos. 1 and 2 and Nos. 6 and 7 and Nos. 9 and 10.

Malachi 11-28-2013 12:36 AM

I love Life is Good (which also is the only Nas album to come out while you were listening, so what are you doing sleeping?), but God's Son is a must-listen. "Get Down" might be his best track since Illmatic.

Wise Wiggles 11-28-2013 12:59 AM

You forgot The Firm.

And Get Down ain't even top ten after Illmatic.

Certain 11-28-2013 01:00 AM

I think my favorite post-Illmatic Nas track actually is on the worst post-Illmatic Nas album.

Huge nas fan and I would rate these the same.

Certain 11-28-2013 12:57 PM

The hate for Life is Good makes me wonder how many times y'all actually listened to it.

Pent uP 11-28-2013 12:59 PM

I came in here to see if anyone didn't put illmat first. Mordy didnt disappoint. Thanks for the holiday laughs

Certain 11-28-2013 01:05 PM

Nas and Dr. Dre just didn't work for me. I don't like Trackmasterz much, either. It Was Written lyrically is top-shelf but sounds a bit too glossy, sort of like In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. The difference is Jay-Z can pull off the glossy sound.

Chyeahhh!!! 11-28-2013 02:08 PM

Life is good.is classic

King Ra. 11-28-2013 04:27 PM

1. It Was Written
2. I Am...
3. Illmatic
4. Stillmatic
5. Untitled
6. Street's Disciple
7. Life Is Good
8. God's Son
9. Nastradamus

These are the albums I've listened to heavily. Haven't listened to the others all the way through. It Was Written is my favorite. First hip hop album I listened to and went a whole year, everyday listening to the album from start to finish.

Nas Is Like, The World Is Yours, Ether, Made You Look, Street Dreams, The Message, If I Ruled The World, The Set Up, Shootouts, Rewind and Thief's Theme are my favorite tracks.

Wise Wiggles 11-28-2013 08:13 PM

uh-oh 11-28-2013 08:19 PM

honestly outside of illmatic i dont care for any of his projects as a whole

illmatic is in my top 3 albums of all time, whoever the artist. and lets be real its probably number 1.

the rest i like 2-3 songs off of for each.

illmatics beats get too old after awhile whereas it was written stays dope, not to mention the lyrical type of dopeness he had on that album. im surprise I I didn't put stillmatic at the top of my list, been bumping that constantly since it came out in what '01? never gets old. ether, what goes around, the flyest, rewind, the intro, one mic shitttt every track

King Ra. 11-29-2013 12:00 PM

Damn, Stillmatic was just as loaded as It Was Written now that I think about it.

...the Nagger 11-29-2013 12:04 PM

my only beef with most lists is Hip Hop dead being higher than I would put it

Illmatic is consider to be the greatest hip hop album ever, not just nas, ... it is easily consider arguably the greatest rap album ever made

wtf are you talking about?

Geno 11-29-2013 12:31 PM

peep newer list

pretty sure was talking bout my opinion? why you mad? cuz I chose to bump stillmatic and it was written more than illmatic? had each album since they came out and still do so don't act like idk what ive heard. and yeah, ive read the reviews.

wtf are you talking about?

Certain 02-26-2016 12:20 AM

Life Is Good might be the best proper Nas album since Illmatic. I've grown on it over time. Fuck Salaam Remi.

oats 02-26-2016 12:34 AM

I see a lot of people sleeping on Distant Relatives, which is top 5 easy if you consider it a Nas album (which I don't).

Illmatic
God's Son
It Was Written
Stillmatic

then everything else interchangeably tbh. I remember certain tracks from his albums, but nothing really stands out from a lot of them.

Certain 02-26-2016 12:41 AM

Stop sleeping on Life Is Good.

oats 02-26-2016 01:57 AM

for you @Certain, I'll give it another go. I thought it was overall kinda bland when it came out, but I haven't listened to it in a while. In return, do the same to Distant Relatives. Not a single skippable track on it, and Nas' performances on it were the most inspired since God's Son.

Certain 02-26-2016 02:18 AM

Reggae is a mostly trash genre.

oats 02-26-2016 04:23 AM

you're better than that.

Witty 02-26-2016 04:53 AM

Will post my list when I get time to think on it.

Won't be anything too controversial, tho I would have Hip Hop Is Dead higher than a lot of people seem to. I enjoyed it, it wasn't mind blowingly amazing, but I thought it was a good album.

Ghost1 02-26-2016 06:38 AM

Never even heard em all honest to god

Read literally ONLY op an was floored to see life is good ranked as number 2 tho!?!?

Jesus. Maybe I should actually listen to it. I kindve gave up on Nas after that double disc album he dropped

Ghost1 02-26-2016 06:41 AM

2013 who bumped this shit lol

I will listen to some old stuff. Everyone likes Bob Marley. I don't need to like his son, too.

Mr. J 02-26-2016 12:03 PM

Allen Knight 02-26-2016 01:23 PM
