most difficult style of writing to mimic on netcees

& why. in ur opinion.

i think probably vulgar. ppl will say' i can use big words 2' but i can tell the difference between a vulgar verse and other ppl. u guys can incorporate battling as well.

even tho same.

then maybe split 8

Neighbor 11-07-2013 01:01 AM

Robranda

Vulgar 11-07-2013 01:01 AM

It's true. I am one of a kind.

Certain 11-07-2013 01:02 AM

zygote.

Good answer.

PancakeBrah 11-07-2013 01:05 AM

I agree with Split Eight.

Vulgar, too, probably. He seems a bit easier to mimic than Split but it's hard to get the details and nuances down to really make it work.

brokenhal0 is the correct answer, though.

PancakeBrah 11-07-2013 01:08 AM

On the opposite end I'd say Geno, Wise, myself, Darth/dull in paragraph form, and CopyPat are the easiest. Not that that makes them any less dope.

Except me. I suck.

Strikta 11-07-2013 01:09 AM

I'ma say it's gotta be Manhattan.

His style is so multi & intellectually crazy... very hard to emulate.. I think the only 2 that come close is Neighbor, then Beyond.. & in that order.

In battling.. nobody. All styles can be duplicated if u've been at it long enough.

Except one style.. of a retired textcee who was an original & did a real style of what u faggots call longbar. Mudfoot could never be duplicated.

Exactly. You have to be able to do near-perfect imitations of everyone.

Vulgar 11-07-2013 01:15 AM

impolite from Rapflava

@Beyond

That kind of defeats the purpose of the topic. I'm sure the intention is towards people on here who have an identifiable style. That's like answering 'What's the worst tasting food' with 'Cinderblock'.

Wise Wiggles 11-07-2013 01:18 AM

^ no it isn't quit being a drama queen

I think it was fairly obvious zygote was mainly emulating Canibus when he first came along

Certain 11-07-2013 01:19 AM

PancakeBrah, did you start this topic?

PancakeBrah 11-07-2013 01:24 AM

@Wise Ways LOL that was a funny po-

No I didn't start the topic. That should be obvious from the get go. I'm simply defending the heart of the debate.

Strikta 11-07-2013 01:30 AM

Do I have a unique style? (No troll plz, no bs, I'm srs)

I'll take the 'nah ur too wack to have a style ect' quotes all day long. Go ahead. lol

I really have no clue.

I think I use a slightly different style every time I write... but I can't tell like someone looking in would be able to.

Zen 11-07-2013 01:31 AM

Me.

Eŋg 11-07-2013 01:35 AM

i don't think i could write a verse like Kurupt. him, then.

or Killa Sin, ODB, Ghost, Doom -- all them random niggas.

reading your non-battle verses, i would say you're quite generic. polished, but bland. i take it you've been doing this a while.

Certain 11-07-2013 02:00 AM

I've been thinking about actually doing a Wu-Tang Clan imitation verse for a while now. The style I've hard the hardest time trying to sort out for text purposes is Method Man's because it's all about sounds.

veritas 11-07-2013 08:10 AM

VERITAS

dead man 11-07-2013 12:00 PM

split8 has a very distinct style.

i also feel like it would be difficult to mimic zygote's battle rap style. he reads as very formulaic and easy to copy but i imagine in practice it's much tougher than it seems

Destroyer 11-07-2013 12:01 PM

no one could mimic my style

Witty 11-07-2013 05:55 PM

I would say most would find it difficult to write like me, how i normally write, i don't know if i have posted much of that here, or much of anything really, but i would say i do things a little differently at least...but then again I would find it difficult to write like pretty much anyone else, I only know how to write one way.

I have been experimenting with different sides of it recently but it is back to the tried and tested for my next piece.

I would say people like darth yoda tbh and wise, and a good few others...that clever, witty, zany paragraph stuff is something i don't think I would be good at tbh it gets hated on a lot but i think it is fun to read and takes a certain type of mind to be able to do it. Nobody rhymes like me though, not with the consistent flow throughout a 60+ line piece while staying on topic and telling an intricate tale at the same time...THE FLOW JUST DOESN'T STOP, I DUNNO HOW I DO IT EITHER, I AMAZE ME TOO.

tbhumble.

Mael 11-07-2013 06:09 PM

Beyond & Aero.

Beyond, because his mild case of OCD and perfectionist tendencies force him to make the length of his lines as equal as possible, without sacrificing superb rhyme schemes and a showcase of complex multies. 99% of short bar battlers are lazy as fucking fuck, with this "as long as it rhymes with faggot and has dat punch" attitude. I will never see the day when someone on this board gets to Beyond's lvl.

Aero because he's witty, humorous and has a way with words that make his bars flow flawlessly as they ease into the punchline.

Mike Wrecka 11-07-2013 06:14 PM

Frank tbh

he has a very unique, audio friendly and complex flow ,and brings characterization and real human emotions all the while using tongue in cheek dark comedy

Split 11-07-2013 06:29 PM

lexicon has a very unique style. tough to pick apart. he writes from an intriguing perspective

Geno 11-07-2013 07:00 PM

Lol in here, good thread

He was dope and my boy. Wish I still had our collabs from that site's Open Mic section.

As for the thread, I don't really find people's styles hard to mimic. At all.

In fact, that was my persona back in the day. For anyone who knows my AIM name, which is Spittin Image, I created it because I could mimic anyone's style to perfection.

I've beaten some of the people being posted in this thread with their own style just because I can.

Dope girl 11-07-2013 07:41 PM

Sound like competition lol

Do you ever get tired of living? If I were you I think I would sometimes.

Destroyer 11-07-2013 08:15 PM

lmao @ beyond's blatent big head
apparently the lack of an eye has allowed his head to expand into that area

Wise Wiggles 11-07-2013 08:17 PM

I thought it was kind of obv beyond bit the saurus' style? hmm

Destroyer 11-07-2013 08:25 PM

I used a mix of blue bayou and hush style to beat beyond

Destroyer 11-07-2013 08:56 PM

no, but seriously, I beat beyond

Chyeahhh!!! 11-07-2013 09:10 PM

Take a few shots of patron followed by a case of patron mix in some sociopathic tendancies and a knack for not giving a fuck what anyone thinks with a shitload of swag and you may be able to write like the nigga that wants to write like me.

Destroyer 11-07-2013 09:11 PM

"with a chin load of swag"

fixed

manhattan is bwhahas brother and have seen them do similar verses to each other. neighbor/manhattan are close, but not identical.

It's different though, people think they have a certain style mimicked but, when it comes to differentiating (an art in itself) it's very easy to see who's who. That's why I said Vulgar. People can mimic his cadence, his word usage, the way he compares and uses references, but I can choose a vulgar verse from a bunch if 10 other writers were copying him. The only one I can see coming close would be @NYCSPITZ to that sort of style. Geno/Wise are close, to each other, but not identical (in some instances) Pancake is also someone who's hard to mimic. I'd say certain has a certain style. lol. But me and dull have pointed out it's a liquefied version of me trying to copy dull. :p jk (not really

In writers who are synonymous in writing I'd say it would be

Neighbor/Manhattan
Wise/Geno
Oats/Certain (they're my best friends)
Zygote/Pancake (longshot, but both are formulaic)
Me/Dull (WE're the same person)
Split 8/Dead (deads style is easy to spot by the way he formats his writing)

uh-oh 11-07-2013 09:47 PM

i would say the hip hop style of writing is what you all struggle at emulating
