Anyone want to form a serious topical/writing crew?
 

I'm drunk and high as fuck which should really qualify for Hemmingways quote: Write fucked up/drunk -> Edit Sober. And I seriously believe that shit. Most of the best shit I've written is drunk/high. Either way, even when completely sober a lot of great ideas come through and the plots starts to thicken. If anyone want to actively go through eachothers written work (doesn't matter what condition it was written in) or want to collaborate on getting a book together seriously I'm down for it.

But I want it to be with a group of people that want to get better in their genre and want to get somewhere with writing outside of what the internet has to offer. I'm talking about pushing eachother to get in touch with local contacts, libraries/old school teachers (you'd be amazed at how many started out there) and other places. Let's positively push eachother to positive goals beside of HoF Noms and other trophies of the like allthough we should also push to win those goals here as a statement to improvement etc.

If I'm the only one that is actually looking upon writing as something serious I want for my life and publishing solo works in the future I guess this MAY not be the place for me to grow. I don't know. But the offer stands.

That's up to them, nothing is wrong with being content with where you/they are. Writing and where people want it to get them is completely individual and that's something to respect. However, I and hopefully you among with others shall push eachothers to see where it can get us while still being fun and experimental.

I believe that can be something we shall accomplish through a common goal; Educate ourselves and never let challenges stop us no matter how ''stupid'' they may sound, cuz it may become reality when we finally take the leap of faith to get there.

I can swear on this tomorrow as well.

@Storyteller: The crew is more about taking the next step outside of just improving yourself. Simply only wanting to improve isn't enough, maybe at a later notice.

So, we got @Zenland and @NYCSPITZ. We got room for 1 more that's dedicated, talented and willing to do what needs to be done to get somewhere with our writing. If this sounds interesting, don't hesitate to post in this thread for a review. It's also extremely important that the three of us is willing to let you into the circle, so simply being really great at what you do may not be enough as we'll have to work together on a bunch of other things as well in the future.

It can work with just the three of us as well, but we wouldn't mind one more if he got what we're after.

I feel intimidated by the term "serious"... how serious are we talking here?

I mean, I love writing and consider it a dear past time, but do we have to wear any special clothing (i.e. suit and tie) or is this more of a business casual venture? Also, I'm trying to quit smoking and if we are taking things as seriously as I suppose you are, I would imagine there will be cigars and glasses of Woodford Reserve that we will be required to consume on a regular basis. This may present a problem for me as I'm recovering from numerous substance addictions.

As an aside, I am also not privy to ritualistic sex or the bizarre gay mating practices these writing cults often embrace. I hope that we can create beautiful poems together, however, I cannot and will not condone this homoerotic behavior in conjunction with your drug-induced, dick-tugging recruitment methods.

Please review my application for enrollment and I pray that our talents can unite in your fudge-packing, albeit "serious", topical crew.

Lmfao @ Outlaw. Serious as in; trying to get a collection of some sort published and create a plan we're going to follow to make that happen. I got some things in mind on how to approach it and reach our goals once we get it going. I've been reading quite abit around etc. on how to get there and what we got is dope stuff, I think it's far from unrealistic to think that 3-4 people can get together something the public is willing to take part in.
