under what circumstance do you think YOU write better?

for example, while under substance of a drug (this is a loose end, because, many people think they write better under the influence because it is so "deep" but just because you may think you convey something deep doesnt mean the writing itself is deep, just the thought you think you said, is)

under emotional stress? (sad, angry, happy)

when focused, like "you're in the game" "focused"

or all of the above?

i think i write best when im least focused to writing towards a uniformed template that i suppose is deemed 'worthy' of my standards. not saying those certain templates arent good writing, i just think me, myself write better when i expunge the strict titter tatter and customize a form of self.

I write best when I'm getting a little tired at 2 a.m., then masturbate and come up with an opening line.

if im depressed and drunk, but under the right circumstances. sometimes ill be that and just not want anything to do with writing. or ill write something i immediately regret when i see it sober. but the pieces of writing i think are my best are always written drunk, unedited. so i drink whiskey and hope for the best in a luck of the draw.

My best writings come out of no where, and I usually don't think they're that good at first

1. Under emotional stress. (Depressed, sad, angry etc.) Also when I have no fucking distractions.

2. I also write better when people predict against me or say that I'm worse than this & this person in an upcoming battle. I generally write better when I feel like I got to prove that I know my shit.

3. Every now and then I get into ''the zone'' where I just blurt out 100-200 fucking lines about different shit, take out 10 of those and write something else etc. and I don't really know where it's coming from.

completely agree with the latter half of this, which is prob why i like writing under unknown names and the weight of whats expected of me is lifted

I usually let punchlines come to me over the course of the week (mostly when I'm about to sleep and let my mind wander) and then word the verses at the last possible date.

I get into a zone and it is automatic. I have never taken longer than 15 to 20 minutes to write a piece. I just flow it and post it. errors in grammar and all. I believe this process sharpens the mind.

When I've spent a few months doing nothing but writing. Then life becomes nothing but a big rhyme, and all you have to do is sort the themes and add some pretty colors so the natives think it's something. Writing is manipulation. Some people are aware of their powers, and some do it naturally. WhatEVER.

I write my best when I'm only writing for me, but I have a focus on making it quality, for myself. It's rare. If I had more time on my hands, I'd be raping children with rolled up scrolls I wrote.

Also when I'm just trying to lose myself for a half hour or so and the mood is right ill just write ... I have crates of marble notebooks filled with stories rhymes topicals whatever you want to call it , been using it as a coping skill since I was a preteen and still do to this dsy to some extent

I don't even write anymore. Text has devolved from writing.

Now its purely coming up with ideas and building the writing around it.

When I am completely sober and I am sitting in absolute silence.

That is the only time I can write to my full potential, I can write good high too, I just get better ideas when I am not under the influence of any drug.

I can't write shit while drunk for some reason.

Depends what I'm writing to be honest. But most of the time, I prefer silence, sitting at a table alone in the evening. Outside if possible. being high/drunk is usually more ineffective than effective for me, cuz I get easily distracted or just lazy.

Some of my best shit I've ever written, in any format, is on adderall in the 2-6am timeframe though.

I write best when I'm focused on something to the point that I'm unstable psychologically. Then and only then do the words come effortlessly.

When im completely sober and in a really happy mood

I write my best poetry when I'm under emotional stress or the center of an unfolding drama. so my best poetry was written during my High school and college years.

I write my best verses when I compete against worthy opponents or collaborating with other writers. I get that Kendrick Lamar complex

when writing essays or reports or anything other than creative writing i write my best under any circumstance because at that point its all technical for me.

I write like shit on weed or alcohol.
