It's getting played out way too much here

Joe Metts 09-26-2013 07:06 PM

I don't listen to the radio really. I just peeped his album on spotify. I actually like him. Didn't think I would at all.

Frank Metts 09-26-2013 07:17 PM

He makes solid music ... def a different direction then most would think

Fart 09-26-2013 07:28 PM

I like the Gold song
surprised that didn't rotation

Ghost1 09-26-2013 08:09 PM

Hes too preachy for my taste

Idgaf if hes "different"

Mike Wrecka 09-26-2013 08:14 PM

he made an anthem for the gays. and says he thought that he was gay in third grade. and people are like awwwwwwwwww its beautiful.

what happened to rap? god I miss the 90s

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIi7J1riB2w

Ghost1 09-26-2013 08:16 PM

Mike wrecka da GAWD.

thats prolly one of my top10 beats oat

ill nik-A 09-26-2013 08:33 PM

Lolzzzz horrid

Joe Metts 09-26-2013 08:34 PM

he wasn't saying he thought he was gay man. it was a metaphor for sterotypes surrounding the different reasons someone could be called a faggot or gay that has nothing to do with sexual prefrences.

ill nik-A 09-26-2013 08:45 PM

Wow flashback at ur Avy joe

Mike Wrecka 09-26-2013 08:50 PM

no he legit thought he was gay.

When I was in the third grade I thought that I was gay,
'Cause I could draw, my uncle was, and I kept my room straight.
I told my mom, tears rushing down my face
She's like "Ben you've loved girls since before pre-k, trippin' "

that's pretty straight forward . he thought he was gay and it made him cry. his mom told him he wasn't cause he liked girls. even though most would say liking girls before pre k just really means that you have female characteristics more than you look at them as potential dating partners but who am I to question a guy that wears peoples grandpas clothes

Joe Metts 09-26-2013 08:59 PM

Yea your not understanding.

But im not captain save a dummy so i won't even try to explain any better.

Ghost1 09-26-2013 09:06 PM

U think marty secretly has a finkle einhorn complex towards hbk?

Dominate 09-26-2013 09:12 PM

I like(d) the song but I categorically despise the use of any song as an anthem for a cause, which is what this has become.

Mike Wrecka 09-26-2013 09:16 PM

joe whats more likely

me , someone that has listened to rap of every kind for twenty five years has misunderstood newest teen pop sensation Macklemore's profound and apparently extremely cryptic and hidden metaphors about life as a third grader

or

and much more likely

you like a song made for fourteen year old confused lesbians and are trying to make it seem ok

Joe Metts 09-26-2013 09:29 PM

oh man you have 25 years experience of wanting to be a gangster and living vicariously through gangster rap. how old do you think I am man? im grown. just cause your 36 and still live your life based off lyrics 18 year olds wrote 25 years ago doesn't make you some genius. it makes you stupid.

Ghost1 09-26-2013 09:33 PM

I was.srs tho too.... just pm me ur thoughts maybe?

lmao

but yeah, MW is misunderstanding. it's about how people are so fixated on it that little kids who arent even a 1/4 the way to puberty are stressing out, and its mad fucked up... and then it became this big gay anthem for tyke dykes.

dude obviously is not gay, just a shitty dime-a-dozen Kidz Bop rapper everyone will forget in five years

oats 09-26-2013 10:17 PM

I saw this song as more of a good PR move than anything. Macklemore is okish, kinda corny to me though.

Neighbor 09-27-2013 12:51 AM

it's a different world bruh

in the 90s gay people were ostracized everywhere, only recently have people started to realize "gee, we've been treating these people like shit for no real reason", not just in hip hop but all over.

I'm sure there's people like you from every era of change tho.. ppl that miss the 50s, before black people could go to school with white kids, ride the front of the bus, etc. Or people that missed the good ol' days before women could vote or have jobs..

Frank Metts 09-27-2013 09:10 AM

I miss some 90s music heavy

But I could listen to macklemore

Dude has some solid tracks snd I doubt same love was a pr move because he also dedicated a song to a recently deceased mariners announcers and again told an amazing story through adolescence eyes .. he's is just good at that

Inno 09-27-2013 12:19 PM

He says it hisself

Hip hop was born from opression

Yet we cant except them?

Why do people care so much who people fuck?

Who cares man..who cares.

Listen to the song and enjoy...if not move along.

Tbh Im sure macklemore will come out in the following year or so.

Yuh cuz you can only be a proponent of gay rights if you are gay yourself

DLB 09-27-2013 08:51 PM

Rawn MD 09-27-2013 09:30 PM

DLB 09-27-2013 09:43 PM

realest shit tho, most niggas as kids do gay shit so idk why niggas act like the whole "bitches have cooties" shit never happened,

macklemore is ok w/ me

dull boy 09-27-2013 10:04 PM

This has been discussed here, at great length.

Any argument someone can bring up for not liking him is pretty stupid, generally.

He's dope. The close minded will call it an anthem for gays, but anyone with any sense will see it took some courage to make a song like that. In an industry where 99% is overly concerned with what the next man thinks (talk about gay), this guy is just being honest. Most musical genres celebrate that type of rawness, but Hip Hop, since the '90s has been so aware of itself and what it's defined as that people rap/write scared. Which is typical, because assimilation is normal. Conformity. It's funny, because Hip Hop used to be anti-establishment. Now it's a billion dollar industry, with a whole slew of fake rappers who grew up on fake rappers. lol @ Dr. Dre talking about being anti-drug while he was in NWA. It's all a gimmick, and most of you are too stupid to realize it. So much so, that actual 'realness' is looked down on, because it's not cool.

Ghost1 09-27-2013 10:17 PM

How bout i just dont like it?

HEY BROS DULLBOY HERE TELLING PEOPLE THEIR OPPINIONS ARE WRONG CUZ HE DONT AGREE.WITH THEM.

Personally, I envy the way that Macklemore tackled the subjects of same sex couples, human rights, closed minded religion, and same sex marraige. He created this song in a fashion of a story with factual events from his life and family instead of blatent opinion, which adds to the credability of the song. People can argue against opinions all day lomg, butNobody can conjure up much to fight against and argue with if its a facual story. I applaud him for his ellagance and honesty. well done Macklemore, that landed you in the cival rights history book.

Ghost1 09-28-2013 10:48 AM

LOL. Yea they will totally acknowledge macklemores incredible stand against biggotry in history class in the near future.....right after the i have a dream speach will be macklemores same sex song. Lool. Do u hear urself?

I agree this song probably won't be mentioned but dude is kind of on a point ... the lgbtq community doesn't get afforded the same civil rights we take for granted

Greed 09-28-2013 12:46 PM

Murs a faggot too.
