Just watched Requiem for a Dream.. (no spoilers) DAMN!
 

If you haven't seen Requiem for a Dream, fucking watch it now! Shit's genius af, the story/plot and filming etc. is trippy as hell. Some realistic ish right there. The reason why I've slept on this shit is cuz I always assumed I had seen it since it's considered to be up there and I've watched quite a few movies over the years. Decided to ''watch it again'' and realized I hadn't seen it afterall, hah. I don't regret putting it on one fucking bit. It's a fucking gem.

Top 10 Film in my personal rankings.

The first time you see it all the way through....fuck.

For sure, shit's intense. It's rare that movies moves me in one way or the other, but this thing got me off guard a few times. The filming + use of sound/music/scenery etc. put me in the atmosphere from start to finnish. Rich for interesting characters as well. Requiem for a Dream is without doubt a dark, brutal & honest masterpiece.

I can't believe I haven't seen this till now.

Edit: Word @PancakeBrah, but remove the (possible/subtle) spoiler yo, don't wanna ruin shit for the others but I agree with everything you said.

cuz i felt the worst for the mother at the end. although i do think it was an exaggeration of how negligent the doctors were with her, not to notice something was severely wrong to keep loading her up with scripts and unnecessary treatment

The mother was her own problem.

Requiem for a Dream. The American Dream. It's a movie about the degradation of America. The system failing the people, and the people failing themselves. You can argue the doctors failed the mother, but in truth she failed herself and fell into her true self. In my opinion you've interpreted the film incorrectly.

The mother failed herself, true, but doctors and the way they treated her is a product of society. We fuck it up for eachother and pull eachother down in the dirt as we cling on to whatever we think is right.

Dopeness, doesn't surprise me that he made Black Swan, hah, that was a masterpiece as well. I have seen the other two as well but not The Fountain. Gotta check it out. Dude got a sense for dark reality shit. Thanks for the heads up about Fountain and Noah, already looking forward to it.
