The way I see it you got 2 choices;

1. Start working out and beat up your old man the next time he tries to do that shit, or get someone else to do it for you and get that person to threaten your dad in such a way he aint going to hit you (or your mother) again.
2. Talk to child services/the police/whatever.

Alternatively you got the third option;

Wait it out until you can move out and get your own place..

I got my ass whooped by my mom. She used a belt, switch(branch from tree or bush), extension cord, and shoe. But only on my ass drop your drawls type shit. Also punched me in my chest during her "man up nigga" times. But she showed great love afterwards and always explained and made sure I understood why I got punished. I resented it but as I got older and seen how people were who didn't get disciplined I came to respect and thank her for how she raised me. She stopped whooping her kids when my lil bro came cause he was way more sensitive then me and my sister. She apologized to us but again we thanked her. Basically I'm saying is you will hate it now but it will build character. People are so scared to discipline they kids like timeouts will really work. Cause I was bad and my sister was worse timeouts was time to think of something else to do lol.

But now to the hate your family part. From how I see it "blood IS thicker then water" family will be there when the whole world is against u. Love the good and the bad cause I'm sure they love your good and your bad.

I wrote a long paragraph and figured it was tl;dr. Either way; Beating your kids does fuck all, timeouts do nothing as well, neither of these methods work unless you do it properly. Explaining the kid/s why a certain thing is bad and make sure they understand why is what I've had success with. Different punishments along with explenations for whatever happened is the best way to approach a certain situation. Psychology is key. Understand the kid and talk in a language that makes him/her understand you and the kid will listen to you on mostly anything.

To each its own. I was raised old school and no its not for everyone as my mother found out with my younger brother. I don't really disagree with your method as long as it works but when I see parents begging their kids to listen to them or do something that shit pisses me off. Seems like parents kiss there kids ass which is a big no no for me. Are the whooping kids method flawed yes but so is the method u said. No I was not beat/abused I was disciplined. If your kid tells u to shut up they deserve they ass whooped if your kid hits u they deserve they ass whooped. I went to school with this mexican kid in elementary his name was silverado (name says all)and he literally used to beat his mama up in by the 5th grade no bullshitting.

About the family thing. That's fact atleast with my family. I'm sorry u think different but my family is loyal sorry u haven't experienced that.

Yeah, to each its own and the definition of abuse is really varied. I don't consider physical punishment as abuse as long as it's done in the way you're describing alltho' I can't see myself doing the same to my kids when I get some of my own. Parenting is exactly what the word states; It's the parents decision on how they want to raise their childs as long as it's not excessive aka beating your kid for no reason or keep them locked in a room/sit-out for hours. With what I used to work with I've seen kids hit their parents and disproved it in silence as well. When kids get violent/physical it's mostly due to them being frustrated and not knowing how to express their feelings, sitting down with them and learning them how to convey a certain issue with words removes that unless you suck as a parent.

And the family thing; Word, was just stating that it differs considering OP's situation and that he might read it. It was probably asshole-ish of me to be as blunt as I was, just wanted OP to know that there's ways to solve this shit if it's really bad and that he shouldn't feel obliged to be in a place where abuse takes place just because they're fam.

Yo prophet, If you're getting abused you have to report that shit to the police.
If it's just for disciplinary purposes, then it will build your character and make you a better man.
But there's a fine line between discipline & abuse. When that shit starts to get out of hand, you have tot tell someone.
