waited until rnd 11 for my starting QB in 2 drafts now lol

and this last draft i picked up 4 RBs in a row and only RBs and WRs for the first 10 rounds.

rnd 1-4 RB, RB, RB, RB
rnd 5-6 WR, WR
rnd 7 RB
rnd 8-10 WR, WR, WR
rnd 11 QB

drafting position #2 is one of the hardest this year (for a standard league snake draft, particularly 12 position rosters), unless some jackass gifts AP to you haha -- lucky me.

stroooong ass team/depth:
QBs: Benny Roth and Carson Palmer
RBs: All day, S. Jackson, Mr. pay-me-its-contract-year MJD, D. Sproles, Giovani Bernard
WRs: E. Decker, P. Garcon, Sidney Rice, Josh Gordon, Kenny Britt
TE: F. Davis, C. Fleener
DST & K: Packers & Greg the Leg

got jordan cameron snatched from me and am horrible at TE, but it's TE, i got plenty of trade bait with depth

My other league i did this approach in:
QB: Cutler, Pryor (flyer)
RB: Rice, MJD, Lacy, Sproles
WR: Amendola, Boldin, Cecil Shorts, Givens, Gorden, Wright
TE: Gates, Bennett
DST & K: Packers & Crosby

QBs round 10 or 11, its the move yo plenty of trade bate to upgrade at TE, QB, or even package for top 5 WR to really round out your team throughout the year..... But the distribution of point value between the QBs is not as "steep" as RBs 1-32... creating depth there early, then putting a healthy focus on WR with SEVERAL top 'second tier' WRs - odds supporting that one of them will break out, 2 of them will be solid, and 3 will be pretty much total busts

get paid

Strikta 09-01-2013 02:50 PM

Fred Davis will have a monster year.

Will probably emerge as a top 3 TE.

DLB 09-01-2013 03:07 PM

Fred Davis & Fleener are good pickups tbh idk if Fleener still hurt tho or what

trade for a diff QB tho, palmer is trash in every way now

namix 09-01-2013 05:45 PM

word up im hoping so @Strikta

i hear you @Death, i picked palmer just to see what i can see in the first couple weeks... I could see him being ehh, but i could see having Fitz as a deep threat making palmer look young again

PancakeBrah 09-01-2013 06:06 PM

The nicknames were corny. Relatively solid teams. I wait on QB's as well. Not as late as you, though. And I am literally the best fantasy football player in the country.

God Of War 09-01-2013 06:08 PM

i got joe namath in my fantasyleague

lol nah i'm in AZ and as much as niggas want him to be the next Warner, nah. Fitz is all the team has anymore tbh, and they don't want to develop talent so most of the corners and safeties usually shift towards Fitz so it's harder for him to get the ball

PancakeBrah 09-01-2013 07:29 PM

Going over it again I don't like either team. But that's just personal preference. For waiting so long on QB's you should be stacked, but you're not. That's probably just due to the fact I rank players different than you, but most of your players are the kind I'd never draft. But then again I'm an elite football mind.

Fart 09-01-2013 07:31 PM

You made a mistake going four rb's. Now everwhere else is belowwww par imo

yea, if I literally went a round earlier on QBs I could have at least tapped into the Romo's out there

nice re: the top rank. my brother has been nationally ranked too - he loves college football, so has a far better grasp on how late round rookie flyers translate into points..

but yea, def agree the move is to take a qb late but not as late as me-- auto draft for others fucked me and plucked second QBs dry right before i was up again lol

theres always players on the waiver who surprise for the other positions - except RB. if you really look at the teams, at least one of the stable of WRs will emerge as an elite WR (top 10), RB is completely covered and perfect trade bait -- and the distribution between 'second tier QBs' in points is really really small.... same with tight ends outside of the outliers of gronk (last year) and graham

but we can revisit this thread at the end of the season my friends - i have plenty to work with!

PancakeBrah 09-01-2013 09:56 PM

I'm just saying, I don't like S.Jax. Might have taken another RB or the best WR available there. MJD has upside, but if you're going RBRBRB you need to get two sure things. I don't think S.Jax or MJD are that. You feel me, bruv? Your WR depth is weak, too. D.Thomas is the only Bronco I trust going into the season. How is the Welker/Decker split going to be? Manning isn't going to have that Wayne/Harrison/Stokely season at this age again. Thomas is going to get his, he's the #1, deep threat, fuck all you bitches talent. But I could see Welker being better than Decker. Or vice versa. And that's you're #1, bro. Garcon is iffy. He himself is an injury risk, and his QB of value is too. I like Rice as a third. I have him in a couple leagues. But you didn't fulfill RB/WR with enough SURE FIRE studs to forgo QB like that. I like Davis, too, but he has the same problems as Garcon.

i have really strong trade bait dude, im sure you are not overstating your savvy, so im also sure you agree that there are enough upside players where someone who knew what they were doing could reface their team with a trade or two

the rbs and top second tier wr combos can net you upgrades you want in other areas

you agree?

PancakeBrah 09-01-2013 10:04 PM

You have depth. But some of your depth is just solid rotational fantasy starters. Who on your team do you think, on your bench, has that small percent chance of become a fantasy stud? I'm not sure if I see it. Maybe Bernard. I could see that.

yea i agree with everything you said except the magnitude of it for the most part

man on the RB front, i think MJD plays enough fantasy to prove he's being undervalued in a contract year lol... seriously though, steve jackson never came close to having an offense like this in atlanta --i figure one of them will disappoint and one of them will impress, then sproles helps where needed lol

great points re: the denver situation in particular - i think welker WILL have an impact, but it could be positive or negative - eitherway it will be noticeable... i dont like decker coming through the middle so much unless its in the red zone, you know?

yea i could see Bernard

otherwise, Gordon and Givens -- and "maybe" rice and shorts, depending on second year development of the seattle offense and the continued lack of passing attack in jacksonville lol

PancakeBrah 09-01-2013 10:12 PM

I avoided Givens. Like I said, I like Rice. He could be that dude. I should give you credit for that. Thing is, when playoffs roll around, or a little before that, Harvin comes back. And dudes might just pick him off the waiver wire.

I don't like sjax or Mjd this year.

I Ike Mjd better for the value.

Fart 09-02-2013 03:37 PM

Denard Robinson will soon start at QB or RB. in 2-3 years no one will remember mjd
