putting ego aside & whether you think its a real threat / a conspiracy / over exaggerated...

what are your thoughts on censoring alternate perspectives that go against the mainstream narrative?

Dumb question to me... my mom is 67.. my dad is 71.

Mom lives in sarasota florida. oldest people on earth. She said she got her first one she went and bought a dog from utah no shit... flew down there and then had to drive back because they wouldnt let a dog over 50lbs be on a plane.

my dad got his first shot... keeps reminding me his next one is on the 18th the day that college basketball tournaents start

I just feel like, if you have the opportunity to get the shot, why not... I would

my parents both got their shots but they're mid 60's and 70. No clue how long it'll be before someone my age can get one. I'll one when I can though.

Was surprised that the media didn't push the one semi credible story of a florida doctor dying after getting his first covid shot back in december/januray. I do remember CNN or the NYT covering it, though.

The adverse extreme (fatal) case volume seems pretty sporadic - well beyond what constitutes sampling error in any statistically sound research - so it is probably an active choice between getting the views/clicks while still maintaining journalistic integrity. Sensationalizing what could be nothing would absolutely cost you credibility with your target market and advertisers... but I'm assuming you already assumed/wanted to hear that?

I’m semi out of shape because drinking/smoking... I’m 15-20lbs overweight for what I think I should be. But as far as a national average or anything I wouldn’t be considered overweight at all. If I got COVID I’d know about it I’m sure... but definitely not life threatening.

Regairdless I’ll get my shot when I can, Michigan has this website you just answer a multiple choice Q and A, get put on a list.. but I’m in my 30s so it’s been months and will be months more I’m sure.

As far as regular people and shit (meaning like you aren’t some weird rich celebrity that can buy it), you can’t get it at our median age.

Maybe he’s in a different country though, and also maybe part of the medical field and what not, some of them at a younger age can get it... but my girl is a full RN and my age and doesn’t have it.

My cousins like 28 or something and is an ER RN and doesn’t have it either.. last I heard at least... but I know some do or can

And by ‘our median age’... I’ve pretty much gathered everyone on here is late 20s up to even late 30s more so early 30s I’d guess

There is a societal cost to that personal stupidity. Yeah, I get the angle of not being able to trust any gov't participation in regulating speech because it could easily be made into a political weapon. But people are using lies as political weapons now and there are people dying every day because of it.

I don't think censoring speech is ever the answer. But if we don't find a way to call out the lies our society is going to devour itself from the inside out (while our international adversaries laugh and cheer it on).
