i think theyre just saying its unimpressive/overblown because the people he's smashing aren't equipped to battle the viewpoints they're presenting

im just trying to figure out if shapiro is ducking someone who could debate those viewpoints?

everything i see is these right leaning intellectuals (ugh, can't think of a better term) are always open to debate though, but no one ever really steps to them, and when they do they get eviscerated as well because its always an argument stemming from emotion instead of logic

Shapiro has Sam Harris on his podcast. It’s on youtube. Shapiro was very open minded and logical. Like I said.

I'm not saying they're blameless. If anything, they're props, and I hope their experience makes them think about issues more objectively. Just echoing boof in that what I've seen isn't really compelling as anything other than political entertainment. I like seeing myopic stances on issues fact checked as much as anyone else with glasses, but I think what I've seen was just geared toward a certain audience in such a way where it is good for getting views, but is a problematic way to talk issues

Again, haven't seen much. Don't really care for Sam Harris either, but they both seem smart enough to have a real conversation. I see both of them as kind of pandering to a certain audience's desire to feel smart for believing what they belive

Harris' defining stances are all on religion (specifically that it's bad) iirc. I read half of his End of Faith book but didn't really feel like continuing. Ironically remember it being preachy lol
