I'm so sick of this Kendrick lamar dick riding shit....

... duke is cool .. he can rap ... but the industry's so watered down you don't have many other new school choices

But dudes aren't making music that lasts .. how many cds ( or digital buys ) do you listen to now that are ten plus years old?

Theirs probably a handful ... those are the people who make real shit

Kendrick lamars come and go ... shit 5 years ago everyone was on lupe dick... now were dude at? Pearl vision getting more hipster glasses and I like lupe he talented but the shit these cats make wears off

Right now yall know I got 50 on repeat cause that shit timeless

Frank Metts 08-24-2013 11:01 AM

Its like if you like fast food and theirs only a McDonald's near you. ... what are your other choices ??

Meth 08-24-2013 11:34 AM

McDonalds is trash.

I'm just gonna eat noodles.

uh-oh 08-24-2013 11:53 AM

mcdonalds is fire i wont hear anymore blasphemy on the subject!

but yo frank i hear you, but you kinda picked the wrong new school dude to talk about classics with. kendrick dropped a classic in good kid maad city

i dont like kendrick at all. i didnt like that album. but i can look at it objectively and its very well produced and put together.

that will stand up over time, for the people who like it.

the main reason i dont like it is because everyone else does. but i dont gotta like hank williams to see the skill involved with the music he makes feel me?

Meth 08-24-2013 11:54 AM

Man I worked there for a bit.

I won't even talk about what they did.

Uhhhhhhh.

I'll eat there chicken sandwiches but nothing else.

Rawn M.D. 08-24-2013 11:59 AM

tbh i aint heard the whole gkmc cd, but kinda seemed like a recreation of what prince paul did years ago

but word as far as new school rappers go

kendrick on top of the game

uh-oh 08-24-2013 12:07 PM

i'll eat it all and pray i get sick so i can sue them like the hot coffee lady did.

but yea im sure some shadyness goes down. you'll have that in any fast food place.

Rawn M.D. 08-24-2013 12:08 PM

wendys then bk then mcd's

for me

but i rarely eat fast food tbh

Jim Blaze 08-24-2013 12:24 PM

Good maad city was great. It is a classic.

And yes i agree hiphop is watered down....but only simply by the pure.fact of the enormous amount of rappers and albums/tapes coming out having nearly quadrupled its predecessors efforts.

I dont think the amoint of talent has really changed......its just harder.to find now thru the massive amount of other shit that's out. I find jewels all the time.....not mainstream tho like it once was where u could find 50 or jada on the radio or on tv....but theres.still equally dope shit getting.made.

Frank Metts 08-24-2013 12:24 PM

Gkmc won't last. ... I own it ... I've spun in a dozen times it was real good . .. I'm over it for now

In 6 months maybe and I stress maybe ill get the itch to listen again but for now its just an above avg cd in a soft market so it sticks out like a sore thumb

Classics make you want to come back and listen again and again and again ... time will tell but for now gkmc is a good cd that a bought

uh-oh 08-24-2013 12:28 PM

word wendys all day

rallys might be over wendys. (checkers in some areas its the same thing)

but i dunno, i just hit wendys. i like burger kings burgers better than mcdonalds but i usually just hit mcdonalds over burger king cuz of familiarity

but yea nothings fucking with the spicy chicken

and if its a burger it dont get better than that double baconator

the fries at wendys are fire too

A+ establishment

Meth 08-24-2013 12:30 PM

There ain't rally's or checkers around me no more :(

Wendy's is dope.

Rawn M.D. 08-24-2013 12:30 PM

word, n its checkers in fla

checkers is the spot for late night drunken munchies

Jim Blaze 08-24-2013 12:34 PM

Meh at frank. U bein a hipster. At least uh oh is a concious hipster.

But yo! Idk if its just the bk by me....but they got them new thick fries? Ya had them? Theyre the truf. Also them new buffalo strips aint half bad...

Fuck.all that tho im.finna.get sum olive garden an go in on tjem fried ravioli

Isn't that personal opinion or preference?

Like something u may think is classic...to me its not. So that particular subject
Of our convo isnt a true classic.

Like for example.

We can both agree that ready to die is a classic album. Along with
Every other hiphop head. ..no one will dispute that fact.
Thus making ready to die truly a, classic album.

Now.

I honestly think big L's the big picture is a certified classic album.
But there are people out there who dispute its even an album

Isnt something thats grear or considered classic, something that is unanimous?

Kendrick reminds me of a nas lyric.

"Cuz its trendy to be the conscious Mc
But nexr summer well see"

Something like that.

Jim Blaze 08-24-2013 12:43 PM

Its too early to literally label it a classic but it will be.....

It will just become common knowledge.....i remember people talkin about blueprint for a year or 2 after it dropped then finally u start to hear murmurs of it being a certified hood classic....eventually it just was.

Wise Wiggles 08-24-2013 12:44 PM

Kendrick in no way shape or form reminds me of nas

Sorry

No sir

Foh

uh-oh 08-24-2013 12:48 PM

its gonna be generally accepted as a classic just like ready 2 die.

i dont like wu's first album other than a couple songs, or any of any of there solo shit up until meth's 4:21. but they're still all classics

it has alot to do with the imprint they have in hip hop in general and you gotta compare it to everything else

illmatic is a classic because it stood out above pretty much everything else in 94 or whenever that dropped.

but really "classic" is subjective

when i say GKMK is a classic im just judging it like, the music is dope, everyone loves it.its the only album in awhileeee where people were talking about it like yo you gotta check this and etc thats come out in awhile

God Of War 08-24-2013 12:49 PM

kendrick is ass cheaks and I agree with frank completely infact i been saying this and eryone been arguing with me about it

Jim Blaze 08-24-2013 12:55 PM

Damn....the carter was dope as fuck. Im bout to dl it today.....links ne one?

uh-oh 08-24-2013 01:14 PM

Frank Metts 08-24-2013 02:13 PM

The east ain't have much .. rakim that's about it and even he couldn't save it ... mc serch dropped the ***tus album which was called classic till mc sham came through a destoyed their momentum sfter like a year ....

Illmatic breathed life into the east scene and then biggie wu and jay followed not long after

Ohhh And the east had krs one who is an intelligent dude but the most over rated rapper ever

West changed the game east brought the grime back sstarting with illmatic

thats not what i meant

im stoned now and dont want to go to deep in it

theres a million reasons illmatic is classic. i wasnt trying to say it only went classic because it was the only good album at the time. at the time people slept on illmatic. it wasnt classic till a few years later. by the whole main populace view at least

but word im stoned. illmatic is a classic because its arguably the best album of all time.

Ready to Die was released on September 13, 1994, and reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart,[23] eventually being certified four times Platinum.[24] The album, released at a time when West Coast hip hop was prominent in the U.S. charts, according to Rolling Stone, "almost single-handedly... shifted the focus back to East Coast rap

oats 08-24-2013 03:33 PM

plenty of good east coast rap coming out in the early 90s. Wu, Organized Konfusion, etc. But def west coast dominated. Illmatic>Ready to Die, tbh, but those are the two greatest albums for the genre.

Rawn M.D. 08-24-2013 03:46 PM
