I know most of you don't care about soccer.

But what a player this man was...best ever in the premier league...easily.

IM GONNA WATCH THE FINALS WITTY. I GOT NOT FRANCE

Witty 07-14-2018 09:51 PM

France were my pick at the beginning of the tournament, and if they win it means I have successfully picked the winner of the last 5 international tournaments...but I'd like to see Croatia do it, simply because they are a very good team, and they're the underdogs.

For Battling 07-14-2018 09:56 PM

Of course bro. T. Henry is a legend

uh-oh 07-15-2018 02:22 AM

what is arsenal

here in america its basically the team that casual soccer fags become fans of to pretend like they know the sport.

in all honesty maybe they do. i don't. but any american that mentions arsenal just comes off as a pretentious douche. if i was to name "football" clubs arsenal comes to mind first. then manchester united? is that a thing? then countries lmao.

so what is arsenal. is it a city? or just a name of a team.

enlighten me while my indifferent interest is piqued

Those are the only 2 teams I have ever heard of

Witty 07-15-2018 07:42 AM

Arsenal is a team based in London. They used to be very good, now they are just ok.

Witty 07-15-2018 09:24 AM

Manchester United are scum lol.

But have been incredibly successful. The premier league has existed for 26 years, and United have won 13 league titles...50% of them. That tells it's own story. They have been less successful in recent years, it has been 5 years since they last won the league.

uh-oh 07-15-2018 09:28 AM

the name chelsea popped into my brain

i know things

Witty 07-15-2018 09:32 AM

Chelsea were a decent at best club who got bought by a Russian billionaire sugar daddy who gave them unlimited funds, and they became a top team.

Manchester City were an awful team...and were bought by an Arab billionaire with even more money than the Russian guy, and now they win stuff too.

Money talks.

Ghost1 07-15-2018 09:42 AM

The background of the money in soccer sounds amazing tho

I actually watched this huge documentary about Escobar flooding money into one of the world cups back in his day......I think? Maybe it was noreaga? I forget

Use to be a big fan. Use to watch Arsonel games all the time. Should be a good game today though I didn’t realize he was the assistant coach

Witty 07-15-2018 10:18 AM

Nah he's an assistant coach for Belgium for some reason lol I bet he felt awkward when France knocked Belgium out.

It just gets crazier too.. Neymar was sold for 200 million... Ronaldo is 33 and Juventus just bought him for nearly 100 million, and are paying him £500,000 a week.

Do individual soccer players really have that much impact on games????

I don't pretend to know shit about soccer but it doesn't seem like players control games like say a bron does in basketball or verlander in baseball

Diode 07-15-2018 11:18 AM

griezmann is forever a diving fuckboy

this is why americans hate soccer

I noticed that 3 or 4 times in the second half.

Eŋg 07-15-2018 05:25 PM

him and bergkamp at their finest were virtually unplayable.

that was the spearhead of an invincible arsenal i grew up loving to watch, even if i didn't support them.

scholes might just be the best player in the history of the premier league, but i tend to prefer more 'complete' footballers given my own game, and i wouldn't argue with henry at all.

Witty 07-15-2018 06:18 PM

Yeah Bergkamp was incredible too...if someone argued Bergkamp was the premier league's GOAT I wouldn't argue much against that. Henry edges it for me, but there are a few in the conversation, Scholes is also one of them... Giggs too.

What about pele and David beckham

Witty 07-15-2018 06:33 PM

Pele never played in England never mind the Premier League, and Beckham was good...he had an amazing right foot...but was very limited in a lot of aspects of the game and was not on the same level as the people mentioned previously.

Mr. Faggot 07-15-2018 06:40 PM

Pele only played for Brazilian teams?

Witty 07-15-2018 06:48 PM

Yeah he played for Santos in Brazil for nearly 20 years...then went to New York Cosmos for the last 2 years of his career.

giggs was terrific. he just also might be a piece of shit human so i forgot about him.

stevie g, lampard, maybe viera (i like box to box midfielders) are in the conversation but again i'd pick scholes over probably all of them. gerrard is closest. you have to throw shearer in there because goals.

some other names come to mind but they didn't stick around in the prem long enough to count.

honorary le tissier mention just because:

how this man was english defies belief.

It was Escobar. He tried to purchase a team? or did and a stadium as well.

He didn't know what else to do with his money besides bury it all over Columbia. Which till this day people are getting rich trying to locate this shit. Have been successful finding some as well. "Locating Pablo's millions" - check it out. Mad interesting lol.

A year or so back a farmer found 600 million buried on his properly in blue poly 55 gallon drums and called the feds...

@600 MILLION. Now why would you call the feds when it's your property... FOH.

Who won between France and that other team? Fell asleep after watching 35 minutes after France went up 2-1 on the penalty kick.
