I used to have a heavy wordplay style some years ago but sometimes it’s definitely overdone.

ppl got this set image of good punches gotta be either a wordplay or metaphor/simile/catch phrase flip.. n they rlly just limitin their boundaries. a great 12 line verse might have 3 punches tops of them 2 combined.

Cuz standard length used to be 16-24 lines so there was more variety accepted. And lines that are now considered filler were actual content. Now you got about 10-12 line standard so people have no room to throw some different ideas out, they just stick to the usual formula. Anything that’s just a straight up clowning gets dismissed because there’s no trick to it.

Yeh all my wordplay worked both ways on the site I learnt at. The only thing people liked there was on site personals.Then went rb and that was when that didn't seem to matter anymore. I think I signed up in 2015 and by 2016 the wordplay that everyone hates here was the main thing. I got pretty good at it but then you come here and people hate that shit. You just have to adapt from place to place.

As much as I hate to agree with amen, personals with a flip/name play/tie in are your safest bet and prob my favourite style.
