I'm telling you right now, Nas probably has his best opponent yet gunning for him.....

And Royce is gonna make him dig deep down to come out the vic....if he can

Ghost1 09-04-2017 07:10 PM

Nas shit was garbo on that new Khaled....

Can I get some background on this beef?

Are there any tracks .... subliminals....

Cmon man don't chyeahh me here

Chyeahhh!!! 09-04-2017 07:31 PM

Ya'll are the kings, kings, kings, I'll role up and squeeze, ya'll are the king kings kings, well I'm bout to see

Royce been talking about "eating kings, cleaning up/ retiring yah fav rapper" for about 2 years now. Yes braggadocio talk includes this but for some reason I'm I'm thinking it means more. See below

Somewhere between Prhyme (last time he gave Nas props) and now (with giving crown props to Jay, Em, and Wayne) something went sour dunno which side it came from. If you remember Royce exclaimed on the track "Truth or Truth" with Slaughterhouse, "Jayz is God to me, Nas is god to me" yet the cloth talk since then has excluded Nas

Nas takes crazy sublimes, all through out his career at numerous cats, but I haven't caught any from his side towards Royce dunno could have missed being he's king of slick, 2nd to only me. Anyway. Royce is known of for making a mount rushmore outta an ant hill so who knows.

I do know Nas was interested in signing Royce back in mid 2000's but nothing came of it.

Chyeahhh!!! 09-04-2017 07:34 PM

Bar Exam 2, it seemed like Royce had a new opponent he was gearing for, this turned out to be Joe Budden, later squashed, but damn near every track jabs were thrown. They even joked about this later. Royce was in heavy sparring mode during this. Seems he's of the same mindset now with BE4.

sral 09-05-2017 07:23 AM

lmao seems like you reading a whole lot of nothing into something that isnt there

just for a change

Destroyer 09-05-2017 09:01 AM

But will they battle before elenin destroys us all?

Ghost1 09-05-2017 10:36 AM

lmao at elenin

word to the exclusion of mentions in the legends homage tho

I will say this........Royce on BE4 is bordering on a skill set in rhyming that has never been achieved

kindve surprised no1 talked much about the tape. personally I was floored at how insanely he was barring out on damn near every track.

Allen Knight 09-05-2017 11:12 AM

Yea, he dont want a royce diss track.
He'd bury nas tbh.

trapezoidal 09-05-2017 11:29 AM

I don't know why I was actually expecting youtube videos and / or press links from reputable hiphop magazine and online outlets...

uh-oh 09-05-2017 12:04 PM

Nas>

Chyeahhh!!! 09-05-2017 12:20 PM

Word. When those freestyles dropped beginning if 2017 I was like this will be remembered as the year where Royce decided to go nuts

Zaddy 09-05-2017 07:31 PM

Not your usual type of post cheaya

Disappointed

I thought about making a thread a few weeks ago, but I didn't think anyone was fucking with him. Surprised you're not hating. Royce been shitting tho. BE3 was a little ho-hum IMO. Not that he wasn't ripping, just the beat selection. BE4 will stack up on anyone as far as bars. That slaughter house track was godly.

Royce is my favorite right now out of anyone still doing it. Just makes shit albums besides his first 2.

Warthog Lite 09-05-2017 08:41 PM

Really we are talking about lyrical talent here? Give a fuck. .... it's like dissing 2pac or biggie. ... like stfu royce ( if he is even saying anything)

opportunities wouldn't be available if it wasn't for rappers like nas, stfu and pay homage, royce and anyone else in here talking shit about nas....

Ghost1 09-05-2017 09:52 PM

I wish there were still other people left on this site worth talking to
About rap

Good chat chyin

Warthog Lite 09-05-2017 10:02 PM

Why was what I said not a valid opinion for you?

Are you implying that nas didn't pave the way for hiphop?

Warthog Lite 09-05-2017 10:06 PM

I'm not saying that I think royce is trash by any means, let's make that clear.... just don't think he should be pushing at him. If nas throwing punches first or whatever have you then that's a different story.

Ghost1 09-05-2017 10:21 PM

It's more so your analogy I didn't care for

Its nothing like dissing big or pac

I get your meaning by saying they and Nas are/were pioneers

But that's not good enough to float that entire analogy because the comparison takes other avenues into consideration

The most important one being that Nas is able to respond

And it's not even a rocks at the throne scenario at this critically low portion of Nas career anyhow

Rap always has been and always will be a show and prove sport

No1 that is ACTIVELY in the game gets immunity from incoming threats or challengers

I'd refute your claim that Nas is/was as instrumental in paving the way for hip hop as much as you alluded to as well but that's not really a topic I care to pick up....

Especially since for me in this current discussion it's irrelevant as indicated by my earlier point

Lastly the other off putting portion of ur comment was that royce strength lies only in lyrical prowess which is just ..... I mean it's really fucking stupid?

So basically everything you said made it painfully clear to me that you have absolutely no grasp whatsoever on the topic being discussed and really from everything I can gather here a complete lack of base level knowledge in the game at all

That you said the shit was obnoxious enough....but the fact that even after I passed over your idiotic attempt in joining the discussion....you had to ask me to tell you why it was moronic speaks volumes to the breed of blind stupidity that you're infected with.

Warthog Lite 09-05-2017 10:35 PM

Okay well I did say that but I did just really mean it like to me seemed like there was an argument about who's the better rapper and who would beat who...

And what I think nas paved the way for is emcees in his city/genre to come up.... not rap/hiphop as a whole....

Your clearly a smart man when it comes to music and for me it's about paying respect in my opinion no matter what the music genre is.

But it's clear you don't want to conversate with me and that's cool, see ya around!

Enjoyable read. I'll check out BE4.The last time i was impressed by lyrics was FWA so its been a minute.

WRATH 09-06-2017 06:14 AM

3 and a half songs in

Yeah this shits tough. I cant listen to this type of rap casually anymore but i appreciate this.

Lol, just let it play through the mask off beat

Yeah this tough let me stop.

that really is all he has going for him though

his flows are dope, but alot of that has to do with "the lyricism" and or how he writes and structures his shit which goes in the "lyrical prowess" column in my book

but yea i want to like royce he just makes shit music. premier can't even help him.

if he didn't corn it up i could get behind him more.

i respect his pen. beyond that who gives a shit

WRATH 09-06-2017 06:24 AM

Damn it see thats what i mean. He is missing here and there. If its not a universal truth or close to it i cannot bump condone it.

Maybe hes pandering to his audience. If thats the case whatever but still i cannot draw energy from this music. If i wanted cutthroat freestyles in this fashion id pick some eminem freestyles.
But hes active so i cant totally hate.

Nah yeah he is off thats not cool. Thats part of it man you gotta be on beat he doesnt hesitate to sacrifice the vibe for a punchline.

Haha, im torn because when hes on hes on.

Alright ima stop for real.

WRATH 09-06-2017 06:47 AM

I had another response explaining that was still my review and not a response to uh oh, and a few more songs reviewed but it got erased. Main point was is his inconsistency and his almost unwillingness to fix it because on paper its solid. If its off here and there fuck it. I remember having this problem with him back in the day thats why i stopped following him originally.

Ghost1 09-06-2017 08:14 AM

lyrical prowess is not the same as mic presence

you could never spit his bars off his pad the way he does uh oh....that's why his flow doesn't fall into the lyricism category

the rest of the past handful of comments from both you guys tho id tend to agree with

he do be on some corny shit sometimes.......but man other times he just be in the MATRIX like everything he sayin is tuff and I look at the track timer and he been going off for like 4min straight like wtf!?! just going OFF.

as far as him riding the beat I feel like hes on WAY more then hes off.....it is noticeable when hes off tho....and frustrating

but as far as rather just knock some em ? man I feel like this is the best version and least corniest em product you going to get.

but yea ultimately its a niche taste for fans of the craft.......but hes doing more than displaying writing talent

as far as the actual topic tho......nas not really a song maker either? not for me.....but again I suppose that's subjective never really loved nas. he gets play but not a personal fav.

Geno 09-06-2017 12:19 PM

Lol. R.i.p. nasir jones

Except i dou t its gonna happen. You rly think nas would step to this? Hell nah. Hes been basically doing nothing for way to long and royce is in his fucking prhyme if you ask me. Idk. Maybe not. But did he ever step out of his prhyme.?

Nas would be a fo to even take this on in the slightest. Its genious for royce tho... Destroyinf a mainstream legend the right way would definitely shove his fan base i to outerspace as lo g as he demolishes shit. Which he will. I can only hope this would happen.. But rly i know ita not going to

Finnydot 09-06-2017 03:38 PM

Royce doesn't write anymore, btw. He's been doing the Jay-z thing where they're technically freestyles but rehearsed if that makes sense. And his "off beat" lines are never really off beat per se since he often will bring back the same scheme and rock it for a couple bars to make it make sense. That's one thing I've noticed about Big Sean as well. Even when he sounds off beat, he's not, because he carries it a few more bars to clean it up. I actually respect that because you take a risk and make it pay off. That's some next level type shit, not a detriment.

WRATH 09-06-2017 04:06 PM

Nah new wayne is next level and big sean is off a microscopic amount. I could have got over royce being off sometimes if the content was strong but he had a reddit line that made me question his manhood. Hes a little unpredictable with schemes yeah he saves it here and there but what i think is frustrating is that he had enough good lines to make flawless tracks. Instead he powered through on some ultimate rhymer shit, which would have been okay, if he was never off. I lost the rhyme more then a handful of times. I will give royce consistency over em but thats why em doesn't drop all the time he has to work out the kinks. Not new em tho new em halfway sounds like this thats why i cant listen to him either.

Nas would be an idiot to battle this type of rapper anyways best he should do is a passing jab. He need to worry about his cd keeping up with 4:44 anyways ive been worried about him ever since that came out rt.

Finnydot 09-06-2017 06:06 PM

Nas ain't gotta worry about shit. His spot been solidified since his first album. It's just a pride thing to defend his spot now, he ain't never gonna lose it. Dudes put out way more garbage albums than anyone I know of and still gets his spot for Illmatic. Stillmatic and God's Son are just icing on his proverbial cake. Everything else he's done is garbage but it doesn't detract from his legend at all.

WRATH 09-06-2017 06:16 PM

Hip hop is dead and life is good are dope. I am and it was written had its moments.

Am i the only one who thinks stillmatic better then illmatic? Or are you not supposed to rate it like that?

It was written and i am are both sick to me.
His first 3.. Then he started getting sketch with that nastradamus shit

Geno 09-06-2017 06:37 PM

Having said that..
Death is certain is a god album imo. Which i could listen to just as much as anything in nas catergory. As well as bar exam 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are also dope but more flexing shit. Whereas he couldve dropped BE 1 and 2 as albums imo

sral 09-08-2017 04:22 AM

yo where do i find this BE4 though?

WRATH 09-08-2017 05:35 PM

Only thing im mad about is he had enough good lines to make flawless tracks. Too much filler

PancakeBrah 09-08-2017 07:59 PM

That quapdruple post of no avy negative rep posters was a lot to scroll through but I managed not to read a word.

WRATH 09-08-2017 11:03 PM
