"Slippin'" is better and realer than any 2Pac track.
|
disagree with anywhere between a third and half of your assessment.
|
It's automatically realer because 2Pac's life was like Kim Kardashian's compared to DMX's life.
|
That's the part I somewhat agree with, though idk if it's realer than EVERY 2-Pac track. To be fair, DMX is realer than probably every other MC ever, so it's not exactly an insult.
|
Ruff Ryders was also the stronger record label

Dre is the stronger producer. I feel Drag On is slept on a majority of the time though.
Sheek was ok in his earlier days & has improved vastly. Styles is hit or miss for me but A Gangster & A Gentlemen is always in rotation for me Eve had a bigger impact than...Lady Of Rage I think it was? I cant recall at the moment I could never get into the Outlawz & they plagued most of Pacs tracks. Hit Em Up felt like an Outlaws track featuring Pac maybe thats why I never enjoyed it. |

Man how is this fair tho lol. This like the realest rap song period.
Why pac has to be singled out lmao |
Tupac is portrayed as the biggest thug ever... Which he actually started thugging after his success... Reverse thuggery
|
certain has said so much fraudulent shit in this thread my brain exploded
|
jada has like 3 dope songs. i like dmx as much as the next guy. but come the fuck on
quit being weirdos snoop and pac wash them fucking easily. drag-on LMFAO in ten years people are gonna be making threads like, cmon guys, tyga>50 i hate all of you. |
Jada is the nicest. DMX is mediocre in my opinion.

Cuz musically and album wise it's not close and I like Jada |

For someone who makes such dope beats, I find myself diagreeing with @uh-oh on most things he says in relation to hip hop. Other than his opinions on producers.
I still love you though. |
Agreed @Witty
The fact that uh oh is the only one kind of on my side here is distressing. But I will take Pac and Snoop over DMX and Jada 8/10 times. |

It's real to him but it's a different perspective. Tupac didn't grow up as rough and there's mad videos of him being soft in his early teenage acting career on youtube that are laughable when contrasted with his later persona but I respect both for being real and not being sociopaths. But yes I would agree DMX is on some real, came from the bottom drug addiction shit whereas Tupac was concered with socio-political concerns beyond his ken to the point where he believed in wack illuminati conspiracies etc. There's no illuminati just ultra-wealthy who keep it low key IMO (not on forbes even tho families r far richer and more powerful than buffet/gates etc). Rockefellers/Rothschilds come to mind. Tupac was obsessed with the satan worship black magic absurd, evil zombie apocalypse non existent element of it.
But yea props to both for being real people expressing themselves and growing into deeply damaged yet angry and powerful adults. Been running into lots of sociopaths these days yo. Glib, superficial charm, will to manipulate and control others, lies easily, lacks empathy, addiction personality etc. Fuck these people yo. I mean it's cool not to give a fuck but fuck your brain circuitry for having no COMPASSION. At least X and pac aren't psychos, feel me...fuck psychos |
Whatever
|
Jada only has two solo albums though. Otherwise it was mostly Lox albums & mixtapes

The problem is you all place too much credence in writing, and by writing i mean the literal writing of verses. Not like songwriting. Which leads to the music debate. Pac made better music than pretty much everyone. Snoop is top 10.
Jada is top 50 off lyricism alone. Dmx is top 20 overall. Its silly to even mention them in the same breath. If were just talking lyricism like the skill of the writing of verses in songs, just on a technical level, than pac and snoop probably aint even in the top 100 But as overall artists they are head and shoulders above those two without question and its laughable to even consider it. |
All I've said, @uh-oh, is that Ruff Ryders was run better than Death Row and had stronger and longer commitments from its stars. The talent level of Death Row through the years was insane.

if we are talking worthwhile music then Drake & Pac are both on the same level
which makes sense because they were both actors... |

I don't get the line of thinking that hip hop is all about the lyrics. Rap originated with DJs shouting out "I be the best and you know the rest. I'm DJ Hercules and I came to flex!" over looped breakbeats.
|
DJs eventually started allowing MCs to speak for them...eventually the MCs took it upon themselves to say they were the best too...& now we have Hip Hop
