Music artists you don't like

But have individual songs you love.

I.E. For me it would be U2 - Hands that built america and Beautiful Day...but I think most of their other shit sucks.

Adele...

I can't stand that chick. If Adele comes on the radio, it's a reflex to change the station. I truly don't understand her popularity, like, do THAT many people truly love being depressed all the time?

I love Adele, I dunno man, music that other people find depressing I tend to find endearing, it evokes empathy within me which feels cool. It reminds me that no matter how succesful (or not) we are, life can effect us all the same way. The universe doesn't care about talent or money. Plus, I think she's a great song writer.

Witty 02-11-2016 05:23 PM

Also, I think you misunderstood the topic lol @Chill Phil

Certain 02-11-2016 05:28 PM

I don't like Eddie Vedder (lead singer of Pearl Jam) but think "Hunger Strike" (a Temple of the Dog song) is brilliant.

Van Morrison has a couple songs that I looooove. But then u go an start digging thru the catalogue an like....wtf....is this even the same person!?!

Chill Phil 02-11-2016 09:02 PM

Not a huge Aerosmith fan

but i love "jaded" and that "don't wanna close my eyes, don't wanna fall alseep 'cause I miss you bae...and I don't want to miss a thing," song

sorry, my hatred took the wheel

oats 02-11-2016 10:01 PM

lol Temple of the Dog. I can't listen to that song without hearing "I'M FEELING HORNNNYYYY."

anyway.

I'm not a huge Radiohead fan, mostly because all the Radiohead fans I meet are insufferable. But I can admit that they got some jams.

Acdc minus tnt, thunderstruck, back in black. Can anyone tell me what the man is actually saying? And Angus Young.. in his 60s, hopping around on one foot in a schoolboy uniform is unappealing to my eye sight.

I hate Young Thugga and people that rap like him... Like that song " Don't Open the window"... Those dudes sound so fuck'n paranoid on that track smhh

This track explains why so perfectly... I hate artist like that, they have no respect for real lyricists...

Had to read it again, but I see....

Young thug, is garbage, but I like "I'm A Stoner... "
I wonder why? Lol

Certain 02-14-2016 04:17 AM

You genuinely seem like a bad person.

Certain 02-14-2016 04:19 AM

Anyway, since so few rappers have been brought up by people who understood the thread, I'll throw this out there: I think CL Smooth was a painfully mediocre rapper who was not worthy of Pete Rock's beats. But "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)" is one of the 20 best tracks in rap history.

oats 02-14-2016 04:24 AM

TROY is top 5 tracks imo. never compelled me to listen to the rest of Smooth's stuff, though.

speaking of, Lupe Fiasco is a rapper that I generally don't like, but I really like some of his songs.

Certain 02-14-2016 04:55 AM

I don't care for Drake as a rapper but mostly like Drake as a singer.

I know you love Brown Eyed Girl...right?

Also, interesting fact, my great uncle went to school with him and still has a photo of them both together as kids lol

Ghost1 02-14-2016 01:04 PM

Yea brown eyed girl is awesome. An the other few that sound similar to it that are in feel good movie soundtracks lol. But yea those r misleading in regards to the majority of their work......unless I just did a poor job kf digging. Also lol random as shit that's cool.

Witty 02-14-2016 04:07 PM

Gonna throw D12 in here too, I'm a huge Eminem fan, but D12 never really did much for me, other than a few songs here and there that I really like, such as Shit On You, Get My Gun and a few others. Proof could rap his ass off tho...in fact most of them could, I just think they were quite one dimensional.

Opinions?

I don't really like anything by D-12. Proof is wildly overrated. Kon Artis is better as a producer than a rapper. Bizarre doesn't even meet my low threshold for fat rappers.

I disagree that Proof is overrated, he sounded grimy, dirty, cool as fuck to me when I was a teen, and his rhymes were impressive. I actually think he wasn't rated highly enough. I agree with your other statements tho.

Witty 02-14-2016 04:22 PM

LMAO this was my shit!!!

And no one who dies young ever is underrated.

oats 02-14-2016 05:25 PM

I probably like as many D12 songs as I don't like. They have their own vibe to them. I liked Kon Artis better than Proof, and Mr. Porter is also pretty dope as a singer/producer. Bizarre is inexcusably terrible though. Cheap ODB imitation.

Ghost1 02-14-2016 07:23 PM

Yea I was gonna say I like koniva (sp?) An konartist prolly best of them all. They had a couple on devils nite that I didn't mind. But yea they're pretty bad ....Prolly a solid choice for this thread.

Greed 02-14-2016 08:47 PM

I cant stand B.o.b. regardless if some songs are catchy.

this is a great one, as well. That Magic song is hard to dislike, but most of his shit is insufferable to me.

Fart 02-14-2016 09:35 PM

drake

That guy who married Gwen Stafani.

Not sure why. Seems like he'd beat his dog.

When I think of U2, clearly their doest shit was way, way back. "Like In The Name of Love".

That shit was legitimate.

How about this one, every wack af thing Timberlake has ever done in his entire life is completely redeemed by CRY ME A RIVER.

That wigger went on in with that shit.

Try stuntfucking to that song once.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT PRIMUS THO.

sral 02-17-2016 07:55 AM

Agreed.

I actually really liked Bugz if you've heard their earlier stuff?
