Actually, I don't impose this. (Big surprise) But I believe we do agree on a set number of things. (As usual/probably)

My main issue with women in combat is the implications they might face when it comes to front lines and so forth:
The physical and mental differences. (This can be battled by giving the exact same treatment and physical challenges men have, and not softing down on anything. It's crucial this is actually followed though. They need to make the same qualifications men have in both strength, endurance, mentality and so forth in the area they specialize in.)
Periods. No I'm dead serious about this. We can't have someone bleeding the fuck out or dealing with PMS on the battlefield. They need to be on the pill, that way they won't bleed out or deal with pregnancies should they feel like having sex with someone although that should be strongly prohibited since romance in the army can lead to fucked up favoritism and so forth. In combat not doing the logical thing to save the lives of many vs. the lives of a few is a dangerous thing. This relates to gay relationships as well, I don't say that gay people shouldn't be in the army but there should be repercussions if they take place. If you can't handle asexual relations with your co-soldiers then you're not fit to be there, romance should be left home.
All women platoons and so forth. (These are specialized for specific tasks that don't fit in or doesn't qualify for other places in the army.)

Why do I think women should be a part of the army? They can be a great asset for many reasons. The majority (if not all, there are rare exceptions) is wired differently than men, critical thinking and problem solving and differing views/ways of solving an issue can be helpful to bring new ideas to light. Most are lighter/tinier in build and can fit into areas many men can't. Women want equality, well you got it and when it comes to meeting the qualifications you sure as hell should meet them. It isn't a playground.

Plus, having more women signing up would also mean more soldiers and/or people with different skill sets and can fulfill other areas the army has to offer that doesn't include close combat or the frontline as well. Intelligence, bomb specialists, media, medics etc.

Word. My problem is its COMBAT.im sure women can be just as good of a shot as men, but are they gonna be able to carry their 100lb pack or whatever? Move 20+miles in a day with it, carry out a 225 lb man on top of that who gets his leg blown off, etc.

Im not sure to what capacity women are already used. This just seems ridiculous to me. Im not against women in the military if they are behind a desk, if theyre a nurse/medic IN A BASE, but in the field seems ridiculous except in a worse case we're all gonna die and 80 percent of the male population is dead scenario lol

After a little googling 3 women in 2013 completed some basic marine training thing but were barred from serving because they couldnt pass some extra physica tests

In 2015 2 women made it to the end of some other training but failed during the physical endurance portion

So basically its to make women feel equal and crush there dreams when they realize its impossible for them to do what the average infantrymen can do.

So word bags is right its just some PR nonsense, and witty is correct as well if they cant do it, they cant do it. Theyre not making it like police and firefighters where women can pass with lowered standards

I think everybody here basically agrees. Women shouldn't be barred from combat roles BECAUSE they are women, but standards shouldn't be lowered so they can get in. Combat units should be comprised of fitter than average men and the occasional buff af woman.

I watched Ultimate Hell Week, a show where civilians go through the toughest parts of training from all the worlds best special forces and there was this one redhead chick who was thin, short, and looked pretty weak, but she was beasting that shit...and it was no joke either, I would have died. I dunno if she won cuz I didn't see the last episode, but I'm sure she was very close.

It's been shown that women can do well in combat (see kurdish women soldiers kicking ISIS' ass for more details). The problem lies within morale. Men will fight over women, that is fact unfortunately. Once you have a woman weaving her way through a platoon it is like a cancer. Same as any workplace really.

This is the whole conflict with trying to integrate women into submarine duty.
