''he won't!''

The heart says yes.
The brain says no. |
@oats
|
I wish the mafia were involved
|
This can go either way
I dont fucking know I got Aldo, Weidman, Jacare. |
ahhh man i'm the same, heart says McGregor, not thinking with the head
them leg kicks tho... anyway, i'm buzzing for it wish i went Vegas for it fuck it 5am and the whole country will still come together |
Normally when a fighter acts like McGregor it enss up bad for them. Like they are insecure deep down
Tyson/Lewis Judah/kosta Penn/gsp More recently... Rouser/holm But this feels different. Like McGregor is the real deal First ufc fight I've looked forward to since silva/Weidman II |
I got stitches by ko
|
I'm pulling for the Irish, if anyone can he can...
That weidman/rochold though... Shiiiit |

top 3 billings are all pick ems, but I got Aldo, Rockhold and Romero. Would not be surprised if I go 0/3 in those though, really competitive fights. really stoked for this card, plus my boy Holloway should pick up a good win.
|
Not familiar w/ Aldo, how good is he @Orc
|

hear it from the people he beat |

Aldo, the ONLY ufc featherweight champ ever. Was wec champ before that defending his title against the same caliber guys. Ufc absorbed wec. Aldo a beast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8chBGjXIZo |
I'll look him up now. And @Useless no sarcasm bro, dead serious lol

here's a good side-by-side of the Aldo-McGregor fight ;) |
Quote:
Should be a good fight. Is that this Saturday? |
Aldo is #1 PFP
Also a good fight tonight between Edgar/Mendes |
Yea I'm lookin forward to Edgar vs. Mendes. Frankie is super under rated, and has been on the losing end of a lot of questionable split decisions. But, he won his lw title by questionable split decision so can't complain really.
I like mendes style. And tbh I think he might've best McGregor with a proper training camp. |
@quaker oats u see Paige van zant get beat down last night?
Was pretty bad, I like thug rose tho so its aite. Wiedman vs. Rockhold isn't getting the attention it deserves imo. That's gonna be a good fight, and I can't pick a winner. |
i picked mcgregor against mendes.
if i were to pick here, i'd lean towards aldo (but that is mostly sentiment). if mcgregor wins, which he can because he's on some other shit, he'll have deserved it. same goes for aldo, and that's that. i'm just tryna see two savages on the top of their game privilege me as a spectator. fuck anything else, really. edit - weidman, romero, gunny, holloway what a fucking card. ridiculous. |
@Useless yeah I figured Rose would win, but that was a royal beatdown. PVZ is tough, and she honestly assessed her technical shortcomings in the press conference, so I'm still bullish on her long-term. I'd like to see Rose get 1-2 more solid wins before contending though, Joanna would piece her up right now.
I'm as excited, if not more, for Weidman-Rockhold. Romero-Souza should also be fireworks, Edgar-Mendes could end up the best fight of the weekend. Such a good time to be an MMA fan haha |

but word to that last sentiment. when the UFC does it right, they kill it. these matchups are all worthy of being 5 rounders on other cards (maybe not Maia-Nelson or Holloway-Stephens, but you get it). |
the stuff with ido portal really interests me, actually. but even before that, his focus on yoga and atypical methods of training were there - and it shows in the cage. i don't have faith in nova uniao as the most intelligent camp looking at their history (barao largely colours this perception, but pederneiras has said some weird shit) but i've faith in aldo's intelligence as a fighter.
they could headline fight pass cards or something. but yea, fantastic matchups throughout. |
the type of sparring McGregor did with his team on TUF was pretty dope imo. he just might be on the cutting edge of martial arts training.
agreed with Nova Uniao, they still train like it's mid-90s Vale Tudo. but yeah, Aldo is a smart, technically gifted fighter, and an underrated athlete. fuck I can't wait. you see the weigh-ins? |
just a snippet of aldo apeing mcgregor, which i found hilarious. both guys look intense.
|
I usually don't watch or invest much into weigh-in stuff, but that was a pretty great moment. Weidman-Rockhold were talking shit to each other the whole time, too.
|
i'll probably watch the replay at some point. i do sometimes watch them on big cards/if i'm betting - they can be surprisingly telling. i think weidman has rockhold, not even sure why.
|
he's eerily calm and composed, Rockhold seems more anxious. could probably read into that several different ways. I'm still leaning Rockhold, but I'm eager to see how they deal with each other's pressure.
|
aldo boutta shatter that man's legs
|
I put dough on Aldo and Weidman. Only confident on Aldo.
|
Barboza and Ferguson is nice so far
|
Ryan Hall god tier BJJ
|
ugh that was hard to watch. love me some good grappling, but I will always hate backflops and guard pulls. 3 fights till Hall gets cut
|
Talk about early stoppage wtf
|

He was out cold. Edgar's fists woke him back up. If it wasn't stopped, it was over anyway. |

He stayed active. 170 ground strikes don't lie. |
