Sign-ins are automatically not eligible, and neither are people who just lost a champ match or a contender's match.

Preference is given to momentum, and no one with a loss last week was an obvious shoo in. That leaves the following people from this week's active roster with a win last week:

Clutbuck (win against nigma)
Nigma (loss to Clutbuck)
POET MiNDER (loss to timeless)
timeless (win against POET MiNDER
2tripple0 (NS win)
YDK (win against Ullr)

Ranking the winning contestants by overall wins, as per the AOWL Playoff seeding guidelines we have

Clutbuck, YDK, 2tripple0, timeless

at a tie.

2tripple0's lone NS win isnt going to cut it this week.

YDK had the strongest opponent by record, but was also coming off of a loss from last week.

YDK and Timeless both have more battles on record, but both only cast one vote apiece while Clutbuck voted on every single battle. Clutbuck and Timeless both won by a similar margin. Timeless had more battles than YDK, cast same number of votes as him, had the better vote differential-- Timeless gets first slot.

Between YDK and Clutbuck for second spot, Clutbuck met vote requirements, had the more decisive vote differential, and both had a one win streak.

Figure I'd give you one of the six grudge matches you requested in the chat thread, and you're also in line for next week's contenders. Keep winning and you'll get your shot.

Cool thanks for breaking that down for me, I wasn't sure what the tiebreaker would be an didn't think of the vote differential. I thought it would be me an clut for it just because less losses plus grudge match but I understand now lol

No problem. It normally wouldn't be that complicated/ convoluted but there's been a lot of brief sign-ins this season keeping most members' records unusually low

It's why we wait the four weeks before starting up Contenders matches, because these sort of 'win strength' metrics aren't as clear cut as they should be, and developing a full-blown points system to account for everything is way beyond me (I tried in Excel)

It's something to avoid relying on, regardless. Another reason for you all to stay signed in until the end of the season (:

Yessir I usually try to atleast build up a strong enough record to make playoffs before signing out till they come around lol as much as I enjoy writing I get burnt out on specific topics pretty quickly an end up writing flatly if I go a whole season before the playoffs start an I lose by first round

The weekend is really the only time nowadays I have time to write. So it's kind of disappointing that the topics have not been posted yet because it might be hard for me to find time during the weekdays to write. Oh well, let's see what happens. I'm glad to see the league active though.
