Season 2 is important (don't skip it), but most people don't like it the first time. It's better on rewatch. Season 3 and Season 4 are on the same level as Season 1.

Also haven't seen the new season of true detective but the first season was one.of the dopest seasons of a series inseen in a long time

word to that. i watched the first episode of this season when it dropped and didn't like it at all honestly. i've been waiting until the whole season is out so i can binge watch it all at once, but i feel like its gonna forever be compared to the first and not live up to it. but who knows.

and deadwood just has some of the best writing really. if you randomly turn on any episode at any part of that episode someone is saying something pretty dope lol

I haven't heard anyone say True Detective Season 2 is good.

season 1 IS slow and imo an average cop drama. couldn't get into it. zzzzzzzz

edit - do not bother with true detective season 2. forced plot points that suck yet somehow is still very very slow burn, forgettable characters, predictable ending. it's terrible.
