I'm a newb

niGGas use to battle rap all the time at these openmic mic events around the block growing up. What got me in to text battling was 8 mile, tbh. I just used to freestyle, lol. Then after I saw 8 mile, I got hyped and used to go on to yahoo freestyle chat rooms. GOt on the mic with a bunch of dudes, NessLee, nimrod, BrickSteez, OddJob, Profound and all them. Nimrod was the one who linked me to rapmusic and shit. But I was already posting up text verses on EZ boards/yahoo/aim and shit.

I remember Ness and Nimrod, was heavily influenced by both of those dudes when I was getting started.

Nimrod had that one song 'Made By The Government' that was my shit for a long time.

Can't remember the first battle I saw tho.

nimrod was dope. cool dude as well. audio scene back in the day on rm was so fuckin dope. some classic match ups, werd play, nimrod, profound, ness lee, warbux, dzk, odd job and mad others whom I can't remember off the top atm.

I still think one of the better audio battles I ever heard was ness's verse against warbux in one of the rapmusic audio finals.

that was mine too tbh. I remember I napster'd Eminem's rap olympics performances and some of Jin's battles, but I didn't actually watch a battle video until I saw "white dude destroys black dude in battle rap!" (or something like it) on a worldstar link.

We used to battle in school but first one I ever saw on video was on 106 and park. I wanna say it was posterboy vs somebody.

Scribble Jam 2002, I think. It was the Vol. 6 dvd.

Or maybe those old freestyle friday videos. I don't know what year that was. But I remember actively watching Posta Boy his whole run.
