Witty 11-11-2014 05:24 AM

I thought Em's verse was crazy tbh, Royce was too...Big Sean too....didn't like Danny Brown's verse.

Hush 11-11-2014 06:59 AM

Didn't even know that existed, is it a new thing?

I'll check youtube when I get home.

Witty 11-11-2014 07:35 AM

Nevermind just looked it up....Em fucking murdered that shit lol wtf.

Destroyer 11-11-2014 09:03 AM

yeah that cypher was insane
joe Budden piece was fire also

Just C 11-11-2014 11:52 AM

That beat is nuts though.

dull boy 11-11-2014 02:03 PM

His cypher verse was really good. Liked Budden's, too.

Em was much less corny. Less forced than previous efforts.

Diode 11-11-2014 02:13 PM

don't like this. i hate em's new "style".

normally love anything royce does but didn't this was his best either. a shame, cos the beat knocks.

will check out the cypher.

this one, right?

Holy. Shit.

I haven't seen Eminem like that in damn near 14 years lmao. Woooow. That was fucking nuts. I was really pessimistic ab the possibility of him doing an acapella battle. But after that? Lmao I want to see that dude rape every top tier dude in the scene.

El Muffin 11-11-2014 02:49 PM

its like multis are second nature to him

n they r never forced

diode's vid was murrrrrdeeer

Bodey 11-11-2014 03:07 PM

Only watched that last one, the acapella. That shit was mad nice. Loved the elevator reference and celebratin w the ravens after haha

Glossy Finish Dick Lips 11-11-2014 03:30 PM

I'm never calling collect, I call to collect. Haha, dope track.

El Muffin 11-11-2014 03:43 PM

bigger dike than the Hoover Dam

Damn

Just C 11-11-2014 03:44 PM

He said the same shit he been saying for years. Superman, Liz Claiborne ect ect. He's lyrically stagnant falling back on a volley of schemes and people think he'd hand losses on the acapella battle scene lol.

If this was a fresh new artist rapping like that on a cypher, I'd get it. But this is a guy who obviously only has 1 punch style and it's a style that would get him nowhere against anyone top tier coming to claim a scalp.

The only thing he'd have going for him over others who tried before him is he probably wouldn't choke and would have the odd half decent bar scattered about a solid delivery.

It's weird watching a man in his 40's spitting the same but more nonsensical and watered down shock value punchlines he was in his 20's.

If thats what he does thats what he does. And if people like it cool.

I just don't get it.

And Royce embarrassed everyone on Detroit Vs. His delivery is insane. If you ever rapped or made tracks you appreciate what it must take to rap like that shit was flawless. He was on a mission to make that track his own and everyone else a mere feature.

And wtf was the third verse? That shit was fucking horrible.

Sounded like someone cut up space in the beat to spit over it and claim collab for his first mixtape on some Jay Rock shit.

BROKE LESNAR 11-11-2014 04:05 PM

If you're saying that the Eminem in that acapella is the same Eminem we've been hearing for the past 14 years, since MMLP then I've got nothing for you. That's the Eminem from the underground/SSEP/SSLP/Soundbombing days. And if you're telling me the Eminem from that time period was boring then I'll pass on a debate.

There is no doubt that the Eminem in that acapella can hang with the top tier battlers of today. I see his influence in nearly every one of my favorites.

Witty 11-11-2014 04:08 PM

@Just C he had plenty of up to date references.

I normally don't talk down about opinions because everyone's different, but I dunno how anyone can say he didn't kill it, shit was crazy....better than he's been in years.

No. I used to fuck with Eminem around the late 90's/early to mid 2000's.

There's a difference between going back to a style and doing it well. It just doesn't sit with me. There's also a difference between going back to a style and still sounding fresh and relevant to the times.

It's his age, his delivery and his insistence on recycling the same references he was using in his "My name is" and "Real Slim Shady Days"

I'm shocked he doesn't mention the back street boys or Britney tbh.

I just don't think he's evolved. Don't wanna sound douchy net critic, wtf am I? and it's only music, but he seems lost and confused on wtf he's "supposed to be" at this stage in his life. It's like he too busy tryna please people rather than take a natural course.

Everyone takes something different away when they listen to music or view how an artists conducts himself.

Thats just how he comes across to me when he raps.

Like I said if people like it, cool. I'm just not buying it. I'm not seeing what others are seeing.

I mean look at Royce. He been around just as long yet he still sounds as fresh, natural and credible as he ever has, at least to me.

Maybe it's the fact ems style is so strong and in your face and more suited to a 20 year old than a man in his early to mid 40's. He's too distinct and ridgid limiting his life span.

The guy has spent 14 years taking criticisms from ppl like me who wanted him to go back to his original punchline/scheme style. In 14 yrs of Em the only thing I can say that he's done that has absolutely entertained me was 8 Mile and the soundtrack. Even the new Bad Meets Evil didn't inspire me. But now he finally, after maturing as an artist his entire career, goes back to his old style and it sounds just as natural and smooth as it ever did. How can you say you fucked with him back when he was untouchable and then when he goes back to it after a decade and a half act as if he's outdated and can't hang with anyone. That's absurd.

Royce is a monster and I think he been one since he first started. that dude still under rated as fuck

Witty 11-11-2014 05:57 PM

Royce top 5 of all time imo.

In terms of pure talent, not necessarily when it comes to his back catalogue.

Crooked I killed that shit

dull boy 11-11-2014 07:21 PM

This type of rapping isn't about staying true to yourself and progression as an artist/person. Em's Slim Shady style when it was good was humor laced with his amazing knack for lyricism and cartoonish demeanor. On Eminem Show when Marshall went somewhat ghetto, and onward where he got weird, he lost that easy going style and when he snapped out of his funk he tried to recreate it, and forced things. Bad Meets Evil was a step in the right direction. Relapse was like listening to old drunk forced freestyles of lazy multis. Recovery had some tracks like On Fire that were somewhat like his old self. Recently he seems to be delving back into the battle scene, and that's where the roots of The Slim Shady EP were.

This was really good, and entertaining. His way of wording and humor, when he's on is just more entertaining than other rappers.
