You over think and underperform. Best thing to do is have the right mix of ingedrients. For me I jot down concepts throughout the week, then on day battle is due I make sure I have adderrall, a fish dinner (high in omega 3 phatty acids good for brain development) and a glass of 80proof liquor. Then I allow myself 6 hours to write. 3 hours to think of more concepts in my drunken state, then I put adderall in and for next 3 hours I'm writing magic.
