It's the weekly rankings used to determine matches.

The ranking system his using is like high school basketball tournament style. Its basically winners bracket/losers bracket. Not the overall rank. Its just to help him schedule matches. Were not people to certain, juat numbers

oats 05-10-2014 02:38 PM

those rankings are aligned with results, so if you lose (as I have in the last 2 weeks) you fall in the rankings, whereas wins move you up.

dead man 05-10-2014 02:39 PM

i had a verse written but i didnt get a chance to post it

o well sry soul

Split 05-10-2014 02:42 PM

if my match is the last to receive a vote i'm going to have a hernia

Certain 05-10-2014 02:44 PM

Hypothetically, let's say the higher ranked people won this week.

Quote:

Championship
1. zygote (8-2)
2. Zombie (3-0) | No one has ever before seen anything like it.

Contender match
3. timeless (6-4)
4. Split Eight (2-2) | This can't be how it's supposed to end.

5. Perpendicular (1-0)
6. Frank (7-3) | This is your chance to prove yourself.

7. Vividlyvague (6-3)
8. Certain (2-2) | It'll make a man out of you.

9. Just Write (4-3)
10. King Ra. (4-5) | We can do this if we work together.

11. Mike Wrecka (4-5)
12. YDK (3-3) | How will we ever make it stop?

13. Adonis (4-6)
14. Cereal_Killa (1-1) | It's the only thing that's important anymore.

15. Vulgar (4-2)
16. oats (8-2) | The whole world is depending on you.

17. Johnathan Mercy (1-2)
18. MMLP (0-4)* | Nothing really matters anymore.

19. dead man (0-2)
20. Soulstice (0-2) | You need to figure out who you really are.
Next week's rankings (assuming no no-shows or sign outs) would be:

1. zygote (winner of 1-2)
2. timeless (winner of 3-4)

3. Perpendicular (winner of 5-6)
4. Vividlyvague (winner of 7-8)

5. Just Write (winner of 9-10)
6. Mike Wrecka (winner of 11-12)

7. Adonis (winner of 13-14)
8. Vulgar (winner of 15-16)

9. Zombie (loser of 1-2)
10. Johnathan Mercy (winner of 17-18)

11. Split Eight (loser of 3-4)
12. dead man (winner of 19-20)

13. Frank (loser of 5-6)
14. Certain (loser of 7-8)

15. King Ra. (loser of 9-10)
16. YDK (loser 11-12)

17. Cereal_Killa (loser of 13-14)
18. oats (loser of 15-16)

19. MMLP (loser of 17-18)
20. Soulstice (loser of 19-20)

This is built in the same fashion as the RSTL and RBL of old. The idea is to allow different contenders to cycle through in a more logical progression.

oats 05-10-2014 02:47 PM

it's cool that no matter what happens, there are dope match ups the next week. Frank-Certain and Black-Split would be dope. so would the Mercy-Zombie rematch.

Split 05-10-2014 02:48 PM

proposition

Damn.... We should let @Chief Justice Wright @dead man and @YDK post what they have. I understand the need for discipline and consistency, but it seems they all have verses, and it would frankly bring in a lot more votes and a handful of verses wouldn't go to waste.

provided they can post in the next hour? @Certain

the AOWL has from day one had very strict and firm deadlines

that consistency and reliability is what makes the league as great as it is

they should coordinate with their opponents and move the battle to the BA
which desperately needs activity

Not to say anything because pancake's my dude but what about last week when his match was closed and then he posted his verse after the battle said that he already lost via no-show but then it got re-opened? I could care less about posting or not but don't say its very strict like nobody noticed what happened last week.

Frank 05-10-2014 03:09 PM

How is somebody 1-0 ahead of somebody 7-3?

I actually didn't notice that. I was signed out and wasn't online as much as usual.

Certain is the guy in charge this season. I was just giving my opinion. he calls the shots

I noticed....that's why I said to certain 'you got some 'splaining to do'

I feel like my 'no show loss' should be taken off my record.

I didn't bring it up again cuz I don't rly care and I didn't wanna fuck with Pancake's battle but it did kinda annoy me for a second tbh especially after what happened with my battle when I did that.

Split 05-10-2014 03:16 PM

how is frank fuck you?

Certain 05-10-2014 03:19 PM

Just Write, all season I've been loose about the editing deadline. You say you had part of a verse written? That's exactly what happened two weeks ago against Vividlyvague. Both of you posted half-verses and edited in full ones. You and King Ra. easily could have done the same this week. But you say you had half a verse finished, but I checked the time stamp on your account. You had been active on the site at 2:07 then hadn't checked back until 20 minutes after the deadline.

With El Pancake last week, he had given me a heads-up that if he didn't post on time he'd post very close to on time, which he did. Several others have had similar situations in the past. Say something. Say, "Hey, I can show but I might need 10 extra minutes." Or really, just post what you have and edit things quickly. If you're still editing a verse the next day, yeah, I'll disqualify you. But I haven't disqualified anyone yet this season for editing within an hour or so of the deadline, you included.

And Witty, your no-show loss from that week clearly isn't going to be taken off your record. I've seen enough of your writing to know that you wrote that shitty half-verse in the 20-30 minutes after your battle was closed just to whine.

That's not true lol ask people I was speaking to on aim...you're holding a grudge and I don't know why but I genuinely spent time on that piece.

So because you 'think' I didn't, you are giving me a loss that you have not given to others?

Cool.

Just don't act like you're some super strict mod who enforces the rules with an iron fist when you are happy to bend them for your friends but not when you get butthurt because someone got confused about timezones.

Witty 05-10-2014 03:35 PM

Also, I posted in here that I had my verse ready less than 15 mins after the battle was closed.

It may have been a piece of shit verse, but I spent time writing it.
