Lil Wayne has had a very strange career. Most people seem to enjoy at least one of the four distinct versions of Lil Wayne. I'd say sample 500 Degreez, Tha Carter 2 and Tha Carter 3.

Hot Boy$ - Guerrilla Warfare
Lil Wayne - The Block Is Hot
Lil Wayne - Lights Out
Juvenile - Tha G Code
Juvenile - Project English
Big Tymers - I Got That Work
Turk - Young & Thuggin
B.G. - Chopper City In The Ghetto
Baller Blockin Sountrack

B.G. was always my least favorite. But I was super into southern music back in the late 90's/early 00's. Mainly Cash Money and Dungeon Fam.

Which means you should also listen to and love:
Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmusik, ATLiens & Aquemini
Goodie Mob - Soul Food
Parental Advisory - My Life, Your Entertainment
Witchdoctor - 9th Wonder Of The World
Backbone - Concrete Law
Slimm "Cutta" Calhoun - The Skinny
Cee-Lo Green - ...And His Perfect Imperfections
Cee-Lo Green - ...Is The Soul Machine
Joi - Star Kitty's Revenge
Dungeon Family - Even In Darkness
Sleepy Brown - Mr. Brown

gonee lmao

Certain 05-11-2014 03:06 AM

Lil Wayne is one of those guys where if you polled fans on their favorite album/mixtape, none would even get 25% probably. Tha Block Is Hot, Lights Out, 500 Degreez, Tha Carter 2, Tha Carter 3, Da Drought 2, The Dedication, Dedication 2, Da Drought 3 and No Ceilings all have plenty of backers.

Fig 05-11-2014 03:21 AM

Na don't listen to certain

It'd either be tha carter 2 or da drought 3. And only because I think so.

I'll Be Around was decent. his voice and his delivery are not my cup of tea

uh-oh 05-11-2014 11:13 AM

cee lo is a boss

i like old lil wayne better than the carter lil wayne. even if the carter lil wayne is more proficient, old lil wayne was still a dirtball teenager from the slums with raw unrefined talent

and when i was listening to him i wasnt aware of how corny and terrible alot of the production was

so since i attached memory and emotion to it i still like it to this day. if i heard it for the first time today i would probably hate it.

but the block is hot is a classic in my eyes

Inno 05-11-2014 12:46 PM

Shout to BG.

Chopper city in the ghetto is a must.

And,if y'all adding this shit why not add
Some ghetto D, classic.

THE PUZZLEMASTER 05-18-2014 08:45 AM

there is so much new fresh music to experience. hiphop is dead was only said to make yall niggas prove it wrong. hiphop is not dead. DIG. the radio is not interested in your truth. lauryn hill bit her whole shit from lyte and wrapped it in a bob marley brand blunt wrap. (no disrespect L boog, FVK was dope). wu confuses you, but you understand earl? yu not criminal enough. DOOM IS DA SHIT been said that. lord quas-axe puzzles. do it.
guilty-robbery, do it... cappadonna winterwarz rza bob digital ghostface etc etc you speak unforgivable blasphemy WU IS HIPHOP
also SOUNDCLOUD REVERBNATION dig hiphop lives in the underground. hiphop lives in you.

Malachi 05-18-2014 11:42 AM

Who doesn't listen to the Wu that' really fucks wit hip hop? I listen to wu
I listen to mf doom n earl
Lauryn Hill is the queen

THE PUZZLEMASTER 05-18-2014 11:57 AM

back in the day you achieved status by doing shows, todya its done by achieving youtube views.
KANE will be remembered forever and had only one good album which was pretty much half garbo, Lyte didn't have lauryns output, but I don't rate artists by the quantity of work they drop rather the effect of the work they create. Lyte is the queen, ask Lauryn yourself... yeah roughneck sucked balls, but so did most of what dropped in that era...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECjDk3HyE0A

Whatever your opinion, I will allow no conversation concerning female emcees that does not include reference to MC Lyte.

Malachi 05-18-2014 04:45 PM

what mc lyte album should i listen to then @Sunaq RastaAfrica

Malachi 05-27-2014 06:06 PM

they do

Certain 05-27-2014 06:08 PM

I do. Slim Thug is a dark path that could accidentally end up with you listening to chopped and screwed Mike Jones B-cuts.

im fuckin wit Already Platinum ablum tho, shit got neptune production.

but yo i fuck wit the chopped n screwed alot tho. i wish i could find where to download them screwtapes

or are u just sayin mike jones aint good lol

Certain 05-27-2014 06:30 PM

Mike Jones is terrible. And I'm not about that chopped-and-screwed life.

Slim Thug kills it sometimes. I put him on the Young Jeezy level where, when the beat is right, he can just roll in and own it. But then he can't make an entire good album.

Malachi 05-27-2014 06:36 PM

word word. lol i love hearin some of my fav songs/albums chopped n screwedd.

people should make shorter albums like 12 tracks at most

trap 05-27-2014 08:42 PM

Check out Grey Skies by Crooked Lettaz (David Banner & Kamakaze). It's probably the best down south album you've never heard of. Came out in 1999. Copped it when it first came out and it stayed in the cd player of my ride all that year. Just revisited a few tracks they have on youtube to reminisce and they still go.

Malachi 07-15-2014 05:58 PM

Certain 07-15-2014 06:35 PM
