Swaying is gay. When ppl didn't catch my meanings I almost lost patience, but really its the writer's job to decide how attainable the point and main idea will be. Imo. If you don't know how to get across to voters, maybe you're not doing it right. Get better at wwriting and the pieces will speak for themselves.

People are calling it something it isn't. Worse still, in my opinion, are the writers and readers that still rate single-syllable or two-syllable rhymes in a league with some of the nets best writers at present in it. From a technical aspect, the mechanics are majorly important in what I look for in a verse, equal to originality. My own mother could write a story with only having to rhyme one syllable, or sometimes not at all, and I feel the superior technical writing ability in this format should hold equal respect with originality. Single syllable rhymers need to step their game up, it's horrible to see, especially in their votes when they miss half the technical aspects going on because them themselves aren't able to do it and don't realise the technical difficulty behind what they are reading. Long story short, there is no fucking way Adonis outwrote me in any format. Ever. I had the more original take, far superior rhyme scheme, mechanics way beyond his skill set, writers voice, pacing, you name it. I pissed off a lot of voters by telling them they sucked in the week before my matchup, and they returned the favour by voting against me when they got the chance. I've done this 10+ years, I know when I won, and know when I lost a fair one. I was robbed on that shit. All the voters who know what they're looking at gave me the win. The low tiers didn't. Case closed. |
I agree with almost all of that. Well said!

Everyone here gets pissed or at least upset when they're voted against. If you say you don't, you're a liar. I've made the mistake of calling out voters before and honestly felt like a dick right afterwards. If you lose, you lost. Period. You don't like the voting then don't compete.

But I also realize that voting is based off preference and that flow and cadence will nearly never be the same as my writers voice. I've lost probably over 40 matches in my life, and I know there is zero point carrying resentment towards voters. Although it took time to learn that, I was once an even bigger asshole and just bitched non stop until I ran my first league, and then it simply all changed |
and it's true that the clouds just hung around, like black Cadillacs outside a funeral

S'all about elevating, man. You the Zenmaster. You should know this!!! |
I'd say I've probably been upset with half my losses in general. That's how I feel here, too. I still can't figure out what happened in my first loss.

Oh, you posted in here. Hmm.
I'll allowed ext. this time, no biggy. For future reference, I don't allow extensions. |
@symetrik, this site's standard policy is extensions are automatically granted upon request. It took some getting used to for me, too.
|

However, you're good to go King Ra, mandatory or not. Good luck, bruv. |
Dropped. @Lexicon
|
@symetrik , if the dead line was Friday people would ask for an extension till Saturday.
the dead line was designed to make Friday the absolute latest a verse could be dropped. the reward for two opponents dropping early is extra feed and votes. the battles that open first almost always receive the most votes. |

Ain't no brownie points for my opponents that be extending. |

every fucking time lol. every week i just dumb shit down more. |
Extensions are necessary. My week has been shit and tbh the last thing I've felt like doing is writing. Tomorrow, on the extension day, I'll get some peace and quiet and finally be able to write. Lets never do colors again btw. I'm drawing blanks on this shit.

'Complex' metaphors that are complex just to be so are more of the problem. Most people writing here aren't that adept to pull it off. When it is done people respect it. I think people overrate their own ability to be deep.
|
I think every one here is perfectly capable of pulling off deep metaphors but picking up on metaphors within a metaphor is the area some are slacking in tbh. Or they're so quick to say something is too blunt without trying to look deeper.
|
I dont care for metaphor
|
I'm going to actually write tonight. But right now I'm giving a second listen to this:
