In terms of this avenue of writing I'd say go with a concrete ending if you can. Ambiguous endings are great but most people just get frustrated reading those. People want closure. That's why doing these chapters may actually end up hurting me because people say "oh you didnt wrap up the story.." motherfucker I'm not done! Lol the verse is done, not the story...

But yeah, you came full circle in our battle and people loved it. I'd say aim for a concrete ending.

its interesting because i'd share my verses with my wife before posting. After she read my virginia woolf verse, she turned to me and asked me if i left it vague because i couldn't think up an ending lol. That always stuck with me because it made me realize that not everyone will see the story the way i see it and that can be a bad thing lulz.

I prefer to leave endings open to interpretation. Maybe it’s because I come from a poetry background and that’s always the norm with poems. More abstract story telling for me. But I also appreciate when a writer brings it all together in the end. Tbh I think it’s just preference you will never satisfy every one like UNI said. So go with your gut is my final answer

Johnny 6 feet 05-07-2020 02:04 PM

I guess it depends on the ending, for example:

"Saddled up and rode the dusty trail into the sunset" is better as a vague ending than..

"So I took a shit on her bed and left." As a clear one.

Maybe I'm wrong....

...maybe I'm suddenly tempted to make that the ending to my piece next week.

You still have to post a verse my guy. And yeah it’s a rule but we don’t enforce for the sake of less no shows.

Wow, I just took a look in the archives and saw what went down with Diablo. First time I've seen fake text messages being screenshotted into a topical battle debate before.

Sorry I missed the drama. lol

As long as It's cool with your opponent shouldn't be an issue
