I'd agree that Good News for People Who Like Bad News is worse than The Moon & Antarctica.


However, the albums Building Nothing Out of Something and The Lonesome Crowded West have most of my favorite singles of theirs.... Trailer Trash & Broke etc.

They are a particular weird band. They straddle the line between "indie" and pop so closely it's hard to identify. I enjoy 'The Moon & Antarctica' as an album thoroughly, but enjoy their attempts at acceptance almost as much as well. They're just a solid as fuck band with a great writer at the helm. They'll ultimately get lost in the shuffle, and they don't deserve that. Listenable to a fault.

The National (six very well received albums) or Coldplay (blech, you know their résumé) probably deserves to be in the top 10, and Weezer (two classics, then a 15-year stretch of complete mediocrity) might not. But I love the blue album and Pinkerton too much to exclude Weezer.
