The newer guys tend to let SnF bars slide more than the vets and I think it’s because SnF bars are really popular in live battles right now. Some of the most popular bars from last year (live battles) were SnF so I think guys who are into live battles or come from that background will give those lines a pass.

I def see why text should be more direct though. Live battles like 40 mins long so it’s okay to mix some SnF. With text battles we typically got less than 20 lines to work with so gotta be more direct.

From the mods and leagues POV - obviously we will always prefer as many battles to go ahead as possible. It's better for activity. It's better in terms of votes because we get you both to vote on the other matches rather than have neither of you potentially cast any votes if the match is declared void.
