uh-oh is on point. ether.

i'm not saying i don't understand diode and certain's perspective. they're a different type of drinker than me/witty/uh oh. im sure they drink to get drunk sometimes, too. but i, and probably witty/uh oh, compartmentalize alcohol. it's not a matter of maturity/intellect, which a "cultured' drinker, or one purporting to be one, would say. it's a matter of objective. if i drink one or two beers with a meal, my immediate, physical, response is to order a bottle of jack and complete the job. my mind doesn't factor in 'taste'. i've had "good" whiskey. it tasted better, i guess. but to me it was just a more expensive way to meet an end. maybe this is an alcoholic tendency. probably. on the few occasions I've stopped at 1 or 3 beers/drinks i feel like i'm in limbo. almost ashamed. like, 'dan; either drink or don't'. so it's a mindset thing. and since this particular mindset closely mimics the initial, high school, mentality of drinking it's looked down upon. but really, at a certain age, it's just a way of viewing drinking. you're confusing differentiation for evolution, which is pervasive. i understand that there are tiers of alcohol, and that there are obviously "better" tasting choices to try. but my mind doesn't think of alcohol that way so fuck your opinion.
