On the Veritas thing, I don't like how he writes either. The wording is very stiff. But he is his own writer, which is a thing, I guess. Doesn't necessarily mean he's good but it's different. The fact he places so much emphasis on the pretense that what he's writing is incorrigible truth really hurts him before you even read his pieces, though. Split's the better writer and has his own style. But that's just my preference. I'm sure, theoretically, someone could like V's writing more. Just hard to imagine in reality.

I like what oats said about emotional intelligence playing a part in the genome. Also, I'm not that smart but I'm good with words and fascinated by the world/universe. Having an imagination > having math skills. Hopefully this works out for me in the long run.
