I don't get why people don't just battle like they used to a year or so ago

Cause this site is full of has beens that just talk about what they once did back in the 90's and stroke each other's egos with the exception of a few people that show to their NBL battles.

Not really...it's because a lot of the battlers on this site have already done everything that can be done...winning tournaments across the internet, for many years.

Being board of it is one thing. Thinking you are too god for it, is another. Majority of people on this forum just have the mentality of "I'm too good to battle anymore, I'll just sit in the discussions forums and stroke every ones ego and watch them stroke mine."

Why start battling again against people who are going to be easy to beat when you have already beaten the best battlers there are?

If people were really so concerned about getting their ego stroked, it stands to reason that they would battle against lesser talent and win everything, but they don't....they don't battle because there is not adequate competition, and any competition there may be, they have already faced each other multiple times.

IN bold is wrong. There is always competition. If you are interested in battling, you will look for it. People just stay here for the same obvious reasons I stated in my last post. Ego stroking & troll.

There is nobody on RB who can even really challenge the top guys here...why would they bother?

Text battling began it's prime about a decade ago, and it ended in about 2008...people have been doing it for a significant portion of their life...the battlers doing it today, other than maybe a handful of dudes, just don't offer the same challenge as the dudes back then did.

I was there, I've never been a text battler, I do it every so often when I'm bored, but I've seen the best of the best from all over the internet and I can tell you without lying or stroking my own ego, that the competition being offered right now is not adequate and nowhere near the level it was at a few years ago.
