I read the Certain and Rawn battle and agree Certain should have won. Rawn's verse was to type for a topical battle. Rigid structure layered with set mechanics. Certain's imagery was vivid and his word choice was levels above. It's incredibly hard to make the reader forget they are reading a ''topical'' and allow them to experience a story. Those votes are disheartening.

After seeing this thread argument and reading both verses, the right person won. Not sure why this is being discussed now, but certains word choice wasn't anything special, neither was the flow or the story. The details are vague to the point that it's not clear and three narration seems unfocused. The only content that gets any attention is the nasty part which describes that the writer's gay sex with the guy is "looser" than the sex with the girl. There's an opening of an omish tradition and no mention of anything omish in the verse. It reads like a girls diary entry with no details. Not a good read in any way. Idk why anyone would think that deserves any win. Dickriding has gone bananas in more ways than one.

IMO, the verse seemed to be very subtle on purpose as if the gay element of your verse, Certain, wasn't clear. Seems like the verse itself is in the closet.

It's about a guy in love with both a man or boy as well as a girl or woman. It's written as if within the age of innocence from a sex and relationship angle and with that type of risky content, you can't be surprised you lost and with the content being so subtle, you can't expect everyone to see your gay angle to call anyone homophobic. It wasn't that clear.
