Both had bangers. Both over rated. Both pawns. Biggie was better with flow and rhyming. Package was more hollywood.

Thread.

Wiggas unite.

i think a lot of biggie's songs are great, and Some of pacs songs are great.
They we're both good artists (duh).
I can't say I didn't try.
I purposefully seek out Big songs to listen to. Not the case with Pac..although I have heard songs of his where I'm like, damn, that's awesome.

Pac is almost too polished/predictable in some songs. He raps with better passion/emotion, as people say, but he does not consistently employ the same subtle rapping techniques which made Big famous. Hard to explain. Maybe certain can.

As far as rapping is concerned, I think "bad verses" or "trite lines" (for both) are actually a good litmus test.. I hear a trite verse or a "reached line" from Pac, and I want to go to the next song.. I hear a trite verse or a reached line from Big, and I'm like, shit, he raps well; that sounded awesome.

for some reason i consider the simple: "jiu jitsu when i hitchu then i splitchu" a revolutionary line.

& @Certain, not allll of Big's songs were good... I mean there's some tracks where he goes on and on about him and his crew shitting on women's chests and busting nuts.

All this said, I don't think Hit'em Up will ever get stale. Lol great diss s0ng

I fuck w/ biggie more personally

Flow more versatile

Pac more a poet

Biggie more a sorcerer w/ words

Flow monumental

This is West coast vs. East coast in action.

This is passion vs. Technicality

This is why you guys dont like e40 vs. Why i think off brand new york rappers are boring.

Pac died for this shit bro. He knew he was going way too hard thats how he predicted his death.

Big a better lyricist. So fucking what if you ask me.

What do you mean?

That he is living on the moon with Elvis and Kurt Cobain?

I made it sound like it wasn't close at all... not the case.. both legends for good reason.. guess it does come down to personal taste..

Gotta push back on your closing sentence though..
Are you indirectly saying that Pac's epic or fearless lifestyle made him a better rapper?... methinks I could ask the same so f-ing what..

And, even tho I "choose biggie" if I have to do a < >, here's a track that is good hip hop:

Posting it becuz it's like.. "unpolished"... I.m.o. the coooolest version by far; I don't even listen to the other versions.
@all(give the Whole song a chance if you haven't heard before)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozt3QQVRA7g

I guess that's a link-fail. w/e. it's the pac & boot camp clik song. trust me no rick rolls or viruses.

And yes I'm aware that this biggie-pac thread has now devolved into a biggie-pac thread with links.. lmao

Seriously tho @Wise Wiggles that track grows on you as it goes on. first time i heard it. starts off like, um wth...then, by the end i'm thinking "thats quite original".. Different sound for him as well, as well as some unorthodox but cool schemes..

Always been more of a biggie fan personally

Quality > quantity

Greed 01-05-2016 10:56 PM

He was better technically, but by an insignificant amount.

You just wanted to see the world burn with this one.

uh-oh 01-06-2016 06:02 AM

I dont think biggie was a great lyricist personally. Not saying pac is either but it aint like big was leaps and bounds above him

Inno 01-06-2016 06:43 AM

Tbh I don't get why he's considered the greatest.

Dude was a beast but the greatest?

Lyrically?

I'd put rakim krs1 over biggie

uh-oh 01-06-2016 06:54 AM

Easily as far as bars/lyricism

Biggie was better at making dope songs tho. And pac was better than him. Biggies best songs other than going back to cali were plagiarized pretty puffy beats like juicy

Not that pacs shit was better produced, he was just better at making alot of dope shit.

KRS-One's style was outdated by the time his second album dropped.
