Always signed up for this. This is the only thing that’s got any creative juices pulling from me

Adverse 03-30-2020 01:48 PM

Let's get some votes going and get week 3 on the horizon y'all

Bodey 03-30-2020 01:58 PM

Can’t wait til week 3 honestly. We need votes though

Bodey 03-30-2020 01:58 PM

Woops didn’t see your post

Objective 03-30-2020 03:23 PM

I will update and get new posts up. Apologize for not being around, I've taken a small break from the forum and will keep posts needing votes up for another day/hound disc for help and update win/loss-ratios as threads gets closed. :) Due to this there MAY be discrepancies in terms of battles needing votes and win/loss match ups for Week 3. Apologize in advance.

Also going to add some rules in terms of deadlines for Week 3. Not meeting the deadlines will be met with increasing punishments, same goes for voting etc. (Minimum votes asked for based on how many battles are up etc.) Will show leniency and be cool for this week but be more harsh in upcoming weeks. This is to keep consistency up and to show respect to those that withhold deadlines, votes and show up on time.

Clutbuck 03-30-2020 03:30 PM

What happens in my case with filling in for Universe?

Clutbuck 03-30-2020 03:35 PM

The fairest thing I can think of is that as it was a last minute fill-in, the no-showed battler (in this case Universe) gets a battle and saves them wasting a verse. If they win, they get a win.

The fill-in, however, (me in this scenario) should be able to steal a win (if they pull it off) but not have the prospect of a loss as it’s very short notice they’re expected to fill in (this would encourage more people to step up to the plate last minute as it’s essentially a win/win for them even if they lose).

It will also get the original battler in the match, that did show, to potentially still write a solid enough verse knowing they could potentially face an unexpected opponent if no-showed.

This is the fairest and most productive method I can think to exercise in these situations (providing someone is willing to step up and write in the short time frame).

Let me know what you think.

fraze 03-30-2020 05:23 PM

my b for no show last week, still in for week 3.

Would appreciate it if you voted for a couple right now and I'll get you in for Week 3.

Appreciate you stepping up and filling in the spot. But in order for shit like this to go fluent it needs to already be set in place from before. Your verse don't count in this battle and Universe would win regardless how dope your submission was but you do bring up a good point. Should have people on stand by that may not want to fully commit to showing up due to not knowing if they can that week that I can hit up, and ask if they'd be willing to show up afterall. Not to mention, you're already in for this week and it definitely wouldn't be fair in terms of win-ratio for others that have been writing since Week 1. You'll get an unfair advantage if you win both.

Within the next 6 hours I'm going to wrap everything up and get new battles up @everyone. Also going to put forth a couple rules building on what @Lars already put in place, filling in would be one of them. Also going to put in sign in/out threads for each week from here on out once all threads are up to make it easier for me to keep track of whos in/out.

Adverse 03-30-2020 10:10 PM

Looking forward to the upcoming weeks Objective props for stepping up and taking the leadership role for this league, we appreciate having a platform to write on. If you need any help with something within my power I'll do what i can just let me know

Inno 03-30-2020 10:45 PM

No worries dude. It's all very understandable, it's messing with me quite a bit too. If you want to start it back up for Week 3 or 4 gimme a heads up. I can get Week 3 moving in an hour or two, gonna wait a lil to see if more votes are popping in. If you want to just participate as a writer I'll sign you in for Week 3. :)

In the case of Diablo not stepping back into the ring some rules I've been thinking about:

Voting:
Not doing the mandatory votes for a week will deduce 1 vote for each vote not being posted.
In the case of no votes at all: Auto-sign out for upcoming week and got to vote on everything to get back into the league.
Repeated offenders will be banned until after a champ match (or similar) has been held, and got to vote on all matches of a week.
Repeat offender of the latter: Banned from Guerrilla League. May be able to get back in but punishment will be embarrassing and brutal, may have to do some stupid shit to show their commitment to the league.

No-shows:
Sign out from upcoming week, got to vote on all matches to get back in.
Second offense: Sign out from upcoming week. Got to vote on all matches to get back in.
Third offense: Can only sign in after a champ match (or similar) has been held and got to vote on all matches for that week.
Fourth offense: Banned from Guerrilla League. May be able to get back in but punishment will be embarrassing and brutal, may have to do some stupid shit to show their commitment to the league.

Thanks for the help @Inno. I've been a bit all over the place week but want to get into the routine of running it properly. I was not really ready to take on something like this but once I get into the routine I think I'll handle it unless @Diablo steps back up.

dead man 03-31-2020 12:40 AM

whats the mandatory voting structure? all open battles?

also i'm literally just noticing the 30 line max. pretty sure i was over by a few, sry Inno

Generally a safe bet, when nothing has been said, is to vote on half the battles of those that are up. Imo quality of votes given would deteriorate too much, or demotivate readers in terms of focus, in "vote on all open battles" when there's more than 2-3 up. A nice gesture is to vote on battles that isn't one-sided or has little to no votes. :)

The way I'd go for mandatory battles to vote on is to find the number that is half the battles rounded down in terms of odd numbers (7 up = 3, 9 = 4 etc.) I'd probably cap mandatory votes to 4 battles at most, or find an incentive to vote for everything (in terms of mags, points or some other creative thing.)

No worries on that we put on a show and that’s all that counts.

@Objective do you want a separate forum for this ?

Adverse 03-31-2020 11:05 AM

I think we'd benefit from a separate forum, think the open mics are getting lost in the battles and likewise with the opposite

Inno 03-31-2020 11:08 AM

That was my take. If objective wants I’ll make a separate subforum In here or a new forum all together just let know

Yes, that sounds like a good idea.

Also, I think someone asked if I needed some help, and it seems like I do. My head is spinning around a bit lately and I fell asleep, woke up now 15 hours later. Usually I prepare myself and got everything in check before I take on projects like these, I believe I read somewhere in this thread where someone asked if I needed some help and I think I definitely do afterall.

If someone wants to help me out with the stats and who should be facing who I'll be able to get threads, topics and so on up. I'm having a lil bit of a rough time organizing everything, and that makes wrapping up battles and wins tougher than I thought it would be. Once I get into the routine it's all good tho but looks like it'll take a little bit longer time than I initially thought it would take.

Adverse 03-31-2020 03:10 PM

I believe this accounts for everyone who battled the first two weeks, and also accounts for if this week's battles end right this moment who is ahead in votes

Also I'll bold whoever i think is still signed on for week 3

Adverse 2-0
Inno 1-1
Bodey 1-1
MMLP 1-1
Orrie 1-0
Objective 1-0
Deadman 1-0
Universe 1-0
Clutbuck 1-0
Nycspitz 0-2
Blue Bayou 0-1
Exis 0-2
fraze 0-1
Candy 0-1
Master Rock 0-1
Witty 0-1
Scar 0-0
brokenhal0 0-0

Blue Bayou 03-31-2020 03:15 PM

As per my PM I did not NS

I even granted NY the ext , but when it was clear he wasn't going to show I didn't want to waste a verse... That's my right

Acknowledge as fact - or forever live a life of looking over your shoulder in fear of hands @Objective

Inno 03-31-2020 03:16 PM

@Objective I’ll take care of it and it looks like adverse is stepping up^^^

Y'all are amazing. I don't got the excess energy to be predictable right now even tho I thought I'd be able to. Slept for 15 hours and getting panic attacks over a sore throat, lmfao. Afterwards I'm really tired, like yesterday and today. Just can't seem to organize shit and in terms of consistency for the league to run smoothly someone consistent gotta be running it. I'd love to do something similar for the site in the future when shit settles down and I can follow through on my promises etc. :)

I'll join in as a writer but I think that's the most I'll be able to do as it's a bit more open on when I can sit down and get shit ready. If it's interesting I can write a weekly mag tho as that isn't held down by time restraints or set dates either.

You done? Already?

Adverse 04-01-2020 07:00 AM

I don’t know much about running a league guys but I know this shit has been a great source of inspiration for a lot of writers and I don’t want to see it die. So I’m willing to try and keep this going maybe with a little bit of collaboration from others.

Adverse 04-01-2020 07:17 AM

Still think we should get a separate forum going for this league. I’m fine with the rules Objective put in place, I’ve already compiled the standings and put together potential matchups, thinking about changing the due date to Monday to compensate for this weird week, will set up the finer details when we have a forum and have the old matches archived. If you could help with that @Inno I’d appreciate it.

So you’re no longer running this?

@Lars did you give it up as well?

Universe 04-01-2020 07:42 AM

Lol @ Objective folding like a cheap suit after one week. I vote Adverse and Inno take over.

My Suggestions:

- Records should be posted beside names in thread title

- A standings thread implemented with all competitors and records of said competitors, past and present (Adverse did this already)

- Failure to check in by deadline results in minus one vote

- Failure to post your verse by the deadline results in minus TWO votes unless a 24 hour extension is granted by the other competitor (in which case the other competitor can have an extra day as well OR post on time and have opponent receive minus ONE vote)

- Failure to show after the given 24 hour extension results in an immediate loss and removal from the league for one week

- A double no show means both competitors get a loss and are removed from the league for one week. Call this the Blue Bayou rule :). No verse = no win.

- Failure to abide by the 30 line limit results in minus one vote. (I've seen this happen too many times already). 30 lines means 30 lines or less... not 32, Adverse :)

- Filling in for a no show entails all risks and rewards of a normal battle. if you don't want to risk a loss, don't take the battle. Having the ability to see the other persons verse ahead of time before making your decision to step in is enough of an advantage. There are no freebies. Sorry, Clutbuck. Just my opinion. Respect

- Must vote on TWO other battles or be disqualified and given an automatic loss. MMLP, I'm looking at you. Get in there and vote. The league depends on it.

- And finally, can we get our own lobby for this? Please? This will congest the Open Mic section quick, especially with past battles still being there.

Any thoughts on these?

Suggested Card for Week #3 (based on what I've seen, level of activity, and past accomplishments)

Main Event - Inaugural championship
Adverse (2-0) vs. dead man (1-0)

Co-Main - #1 contender
Inno (1-1) vs. MMLP (1-1)

Universe (1-0) vs. Bodey (1-1)

Objective (1-0).vs. Clutbuck (1-0)

Blue Bayou (0-1) vs. Orrie (1-0)

fraze (0-1) vs. Nycspitz (0-2)

scar (0-0) vs. brokenhal0 (0-0)

Sit Outs: Master Rock, Exis, Candy, Witty

Winners move up a spot next week, losers move down. Keep it simple.

Inno 04-01-2020 08:50 AM

I’ll take over this for now
@Adverse do you want to help?

I’ll make a forum today sorry been lost these few days
