I watched this doco on animals in the arctic oceans and the marine life there lives very very deep down. The sharks and whales there are freakish looking.

all of it. Rawn scoured every inch of the ocean floor in search of the illusive Lochness Monster, And found him, in the Bahamas, 5 minutes after putting on his scuba gear, in Lochness.

I saw a theory that said alien life may already exist on earth in the depths of the ocean and we would have no idea.

Pretty cool thought.

Swerve 07-29-2013 08:39 AM

It wouldn't be alien if it did. It would be of this world, no?

Chyeahhh!!! 07-29-2013 08:56 AM

I only read a tiny article about it tbh but i assume they mean a lifeform that is unlike anything we have seen before. Something that is not carbon based maybe? Which if you think about it would be huge, discovering that life can evolve and exist in two seperate ways on our own planet would nearly guarantee life has evolved on other planets too, it would show that life can exist in multiple forms and in ways we know nothing about

Witty 07-29-2013 09:15 AM

I can also confirm that dolphins are one of the few animals to have sex solely for their own pleasure.

check that out Witty

I know they just found a new species of luminescent fish and sea life in an unexplored depth/ part of the ocean. I remember I used to be pretty fascinated with the giant squid and those stories/ studies, etc.

Swerve 07-29-2013 09:31 AM

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the conditions on our planet, even that far under the sea, do not permit anything other than carbon based life from existing. Again, not 100% sure, but I took a whole course on this a while back and I'm just recalling tidbits.

uh-oh 07-29-2013 09:36 AM

the ocean is fucking retarded

i don't understand people. i want no part of it, never have. when i lived in florida as a kid i didnt even like the beach. we were poor tho so we went to shitty beaches. even the good beaches were terrifying tho. like clearwater beach. you see that shit on the travel channel as one of the best beaches in florida or america i forget. i remember thinking wtf the ocean sucks then.

sure the sands were white and soft, but YO

THERES MAD STINGRAYS EVERYWHERE. they'd leave you alone, but theres mad people and then a group of 10 stingrays is like 10 feet from you moving along like nothings happening. little but still. so you gotta like kick as you walk, shuffling your feet

also there was like dark holes of seaweed death. i remember walking out to meet my mom and sister out a little deeper, like it went from 2 feet to 3 feet, out to like 1 foot deep. as im walking i step into a fucking creepy hole

fuck that.

and thats just the beach, and a nice one at that. fuck the deeps. people who go out on boats of any kind are fucking maniacs

BUTYO

we havent explored space more than the ocean lol. i get what whoever said that is saying, but its false. mainly just because how big space is. we've basically not even finished exploring the shore of space in comparison. we havent even put our toes in

but word, i still think the ocean and jungles and the pacific northwest need more thoroughly searched through. south american jungles and african

i seen an article about an unknown monkey found in the congo that had a weird little human like face. still more monkey than human looking but you get me. know how they found it? a congolese rebel soldier was walking around with it on a leash. they knew about them monkeys for forever and even had a name for em

white people know nothing jon snow

Rawn M.D. 07-29-2013 09:37 AM

@Witty @Patrick @Chyeahhh!!!
They already found life forms in the ocean that are sulfur based n live off thermal vents n sht

I think nobody is really 100% sure tbh, until we explore the deepest depths of the deepest oceans it is really just informed guessing, but yeah listen to scientists, I'm just an everyday pleb who repeats what scientists say and probably fucks it up a lot of the time lol

It is an interesting thought though.

uh-oh 07-29-2013 09:40 AM

you sure? i think they are carbon based, they just get from the sulfur what normal animals get from the sun, since they are so far down the sun don't reach them.

i heard something the other day that freaked me out. if you shrunk the earth down to the size of a cue ball from pool, the earth even with its valleys and mountains and etc, would be SMOOTHER to the touch then a cue ball.

just makes me wonder wtf a cue ball would look like if it was earth sized
