Netcees' very own topical league is back for its third season after El Pancake won the Season 2 championship. Here's the basic structure we will be adhering to:

• Battles (with topics) will be up very early Monday morning (before I go to bed). But for Week 1, battles will be up Saturday.
• A detailed magazine written (and possibly recorded) by me, occasionally with the help of other members, will be posted by no later than Tuesday evening every week.
• Verses will be due Thursdays at 11:59 p.m. PT (West Coast time), with a one-day extension upon timely request.
• Votes will be due Sundays at 11:59 p.m. PT, and battles will be closed promptly.
• Voting is required. If you win and fail to vote, you don't get credit for that win. If you lose and fail to vote, you face a one-week suspension.
• The league will run for 16 weeks, with playoffs afterward to determine the champion. The more weeks you participate in, the more likely your shot at making the playoffs or getting a high seed.
• Topics will be rotated through four types: pictures (Weeks 1, 5, 9 and 13), quotes (Weeks 2, 6, 10 and 14), story leads/challenges (Weeks 3, 7, 11 and 15) and phrases (Weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16)

The playoff format and all rules will be explained more thoroughly by Saturday, posted before battles are up. I will only compete in weeks with an odd number of contestants to ensure there will be no three-way battles.

I promise you a seamlessly organized, innovative league with many of the best writers around. I promise you detailed feedback on every verse from both voters and myself, in my magazines. I promise you competition that should help everyone involved improve, assuming you're open to improving.
