It's also perfect for networking, getting invited to parties and keep in touch with certain family members you otherwise wouldn't talk to. Also great to get info about local concerts and events coming up you otherwise might not have heard about. Got a group chat with close friends and whatnot, if I'm bored I'll just post a message there, someone is usually up for something. Easier than calling/sending text messages to people one by one.
