You know what you were trying to do

boof 05-16-2018 07:52 PM

trying use an opportunity to question an officer about things i'm interested in

can you elaborate on the training you're required to do when dealing with mentally ill people? is there a subtraining for deaf/blind people? autistic?

has anyone in your department ever told you it's cheaper to kill a suspect than to wound them?

why would you be against paying a settlement out of an officers pension? if he is responsible, why make others pay for it?

do you genuinely believe IA is unbiased when it comes to investigating high profile cases that involve public outrage demanding a cop be held accountable?

Amen 05-16-2018 08:07 PM

Let's be real. The word excessive force is extremely abused. Granted, some cases were law enforcement had used excessive force but had the civilian complied and not resisted - there would have been no need for excessive force what so ever. Comply and shit is handled in a civilized and professional manner, don't comply and resist and you re increasing the risk of excessive force because there is no underlining define policy/law/reg regarding excessive force. It's discretion for the most part... Officer has to make sure he can detain you which may require excessive force if you outweigh the officer making the arrest... A lot of variables that affects what is and is not considered excessive force.

if there were an individual training on how to deal with every single form of autism, mental illness, etc....we’d never get out of class. There are general trainings which cover the most common and give you a set of guidelines to go by when you encounter these types of people. But it all balls down to the situation. If I have a mentally ill person wielding around a 9mm and is an immediate threat, he’s getting treated the same as the everyday bob

has anyone in your department ever told you it's cheaper to kill a suspect than to wound them?

this is simply an ignorant statement. But I’ll address what you’re generally aiming for here. We are taught to neutralize a threat. If a guy is coming at you with a knife you aren’t gonna aim at his leg hoping you clip his thigh in order to wound him, you shoot to stop..once You handle the threat, you provide first aid and call for paramedics.

why would you be against paying a settlement out of an officers pension? if he is responsible, why make others pay for it?

because we’re protected against that and there’s a reason why this isn’t the case

do you genuinely believe IA is unbiased when it comes to investigating high profile cases that involve public outrage demanding a cop be held accountable?

yes. IA are fuckin savages, they’re the most hated fagits in the department because it’s literally an entire unit dedicated to investigating their fellow officers. They will get you terminated in a heartbeat

Aero 05-16-2018 10:05 PM

Park ranger lol.

boof 05-17-2018 02:11 AM

yeah but what about a butterknife right? they killed a guy we know at his mental facility for holding a butterknife. they shot him from 40 feet away. never had a violent incident in his life. i've seen videos of deaf people being beaten for not responding. i watched an autistic man get tased to death in the shower for not cooperating quick enough. so like to me it looks as if not enough time is spent on dealing with people that have certain difficulties.

and it can't be that ignorant of a statement when sheriffs have admitted it out loud at press conferences. its obviously true i'm just wondering if it plays into your thought process in heat of the moment situations. and why are you not aiming for the leg first? why aren't you using rubber bullets on a mentally ill guy with a butterknife?

and what is the actual protocol for calling the paramedics after shooting? because i've watched dozens of videos of cops waiting 3-5-10 minutes before calling. stephen clark recently.

and if IA can get you terminated in a heartbeat, but as you said earlier it's hard to get fired, does this mean IA isn't used very often? what is the likelihood of them getting involved/usual minimum severity of a case?

appreciate it

zelti 05-17-2018 02:14 AM

Butterknife

BBgun

zelti 05-17-2018 02:18 AM

You’re not allowing yourself to be educated.

A knife is a knife, there’s no time to trying to decipher what kind of knife it is.

But you should really start linking your accusations itt

40 ft is definitely outside of the reactionary gap but I haven’t seen the video in it’s entirety so I can’t speak further on that until you post links @boof

And what’s an easier target to hit, moving target at that...a center mass chest area, or a fckin leg??
