Talk marksmanship? RMC trains from 50 out 300 something meters with optics, and require a 51 percent hit rate to qualify. Marine Corps range starts at 200 out to 500 with iron sites and 80 percent to simply pass. (I'm a triple fucking Expert btw) There has been a head to head marksmanship competition between the two services for 20 years...the RMC has won ONCE. The sniper that made that shot was excellent...but we have entire teams of scout snipers with the same capability.

Marines prize effective training from beginning to end. BOOT is 13 weeks...you don't make the fleet Marine Corps until you go through at least 2 more training cycles following boot. Either ITB or MCT, then further combat arms training for your specific weapons systems, or tech school if you're poging it through. Which still requires combat arms training every 6 months to a year.
