nfl career trajectory will follow the same path. i feel it is an accurate comparison. he won't slowly deteriorate back to baseline like the sanchize or be an immediate flareout like leaf. he'll be okay, then mediocre, then traded/FA, then okay, then out of the league.

Yeah they did get a first rounder next season, but Gilbert was not the best option for the 9th (i think?) pick. There were better db's...and their defense is already strong.
