The new ones can still play ps2 games i believe unless they made a 3rd gen slim

Yes, BUT the price afterwards still was like between 450-500 depending on your package. I think Sony finally got their shit together.

Ps3 hasn't been backwards compatible since the 2nd gen of the original model.
