Do not want to say anything to collude with voting, and I'll take an L without an issue if it is deemed as such. But I want to add and make it crystal clear that I demand a little out of the readers cus I usually go for abstract interpretations of a topic and don't like to be too literal. That said, my piece is definitely on topic from beginning to end, and a majority of the time I put a lot of thought behind it. Even when removing the last 2 lines. If you don't get it, or some of the concepts... fine, that's on me, but I don't go off topic if you think about it. There's always a reason behind the things that I say. Wanted to say that so hopefully y'all will keep that in mind for future readings/feedback.

Got you. I don't think anyone gets really swayed in topicals, sometimes people catch other times they don't and I simply accept it. But the best thing about it is that more of it becomes apparent in time.

Word. Just wanted to highlight it in case people would think I just write some stuff and go "oh, ye, it should connect somehow..." Not my thing at all, people used to get them back in the day when people like Vulgar, deadman, and a few others were voting and read into the verses. I've seen this sort of thing hapoening the past couple of years. I boiled it down to me just not focusing enough due to other stuff but thought I nailed the topic at least this time around.

maybe I'm not making it apparent enough for who is in the league at this point in time or I'm thinking too much into it along with messing up here and there (which I see that I do on certain wordings/concepts), idk. I'm going to try and be more upfront in upcoming matches. Seems like it's needed. Only thing that got me was seeing people saying it's not on topic as opposed to just not liking the approach which I would understand as well. Gonna switch it up a lil and see how that goes

I can appreciate an abstract verse. There are lots of different ways to use a topic in your writing, and I don't want to take anything away from your approach. But I think there was a lot more of the picture you could have used. Your verse would have been almost just as good without the picture being there. To me this format is supposed to use the topic to add something you can't see in the verse, or use your verse to illuminate some part of the topic.

Also, want to acknowledge it wasn't an easy vote, like I said I was digging your rhymes and I can always tell you pay a lot of attention to flow when I read you. If you had a little stronger closing I probably would have voted the other way.

Ye, that'd be dope. Feedback and thoughts from you/anyone as the voter would be greatly appreciated. Feel like I'm closing up to getting my style how I want it to be, just not quite there yet. First time in a while I felt inspired and motivated to write, so thoughts would defo help that last bit to get back to where I was. Just that now I have more tricks in the bag than I've had in past leagues

@Adverse it's tough work, but don't think for a second that it isn't appreciated. Definitely not meaningless. It's fun, something positive to focus on, especially during covid. You got me to think about something else for a second there when life was and still is literal shit atm. I'm certain it's the same for others that just ain't vocal about whatever it is they're going through that may be 10x my stuff. It's a thankless position to fill but people appreciate the hell out of it

This league is what it is, it’s been the same for eight weeks and won’t be changing now. Playoffs start after week ten so you’re either in or out. If y’all want a differently run league then be my guest and start your own iteration of the AOWL after this season. I’ve inconvenienced myself enough running this league as it is. I got enough real life shit going on especially having COVID to overly worry about text hip hop.

No beef at all. Lol how can I have beef with a league I’m not even in. I am simply stating that my guy is putting in effort week in and week out for a league with basically 8 guys, mags, threads, etc. yet people don’t want to read a verse let alone vote. It’s bullshit, honestly. If you want to write topicals but not vote then go to the open mic forum or whatever.
