Word, you may be right about that. Recycling is not exactly the same tho cus the pieces may not have been posted yet or anything like that. Think I also read somewhere on this forum: "that OM-piece you want to post? Think about saving that for the topical league", that's what I find pretty fucked up. The challenge and to make the battle fair is writing something new between time frame of when the threads get posted and when the deadline is set imo.

I also remember some time back in one of the topical leagues some dude got found out, or he just mentioned it in passing it was an older verse he posted to show. Nothing really happened about it (to my knowledge) so I just assumed it was a grey area people didn't really care about. I think it still happens by some since it's not easy to tell when people bring forth old pieces that fits a title-topic that haven't been posted before, if you steer too far away from the picture you end up not getting votes either cus it fell too far away. Just my perspective on it all, still find title-topics cool but it doesn't inspire me as much.

I also agree that the topics this week is dope af.

Ye, @Exis, I already read it, shits dope dude. Will be interesting to see what the voters got to say. Maybe you've turned off pictures to be shown on mobile to save data or that it's a default setting for this site to make browsing on mobile smoother. Look around in the settings, maybe you can turn it off somewhere while viewing topics in the future.

@NYCSPITZ: I’m no longer on the mod squad, I just fancied writing again after 6 months out the game. There wasn’t really any rude intent, more so just me gauging if there was interest for a competitive topical league here again.

@Exis @Objective good shit fellas. I actually matched you two together knowing you both write quickly for this sort of thing. I tried to pair people I saw stylistic similarities between to help make things interesting, glad to see you both didn’t disappoint!

I actually quite like it just being in the main OM forum. Might bring some activity back here. Maybe just sticky the battles?

This was my original intention tbh.

Way back when, if there was no league, we would just hold mini-leagues inside forums until enough interest gathered that we would then formulate a forum for them to be housed in.

The difficulty is obviously the threads getting buried. Stickied threads would solve that problem, but have a tendency to create new problems as people get so used to seeing stickied threads with the newer ones below them that they then tend to ignore the ones at tops of threads.

Just food for thought, more than anything, but maybe the GWL will be best staying in the OM forum for a short while.
